Bizzy Bodz Early Learning Centre - Huntly

Here at Bizzy Bodz Huntly we support our tamariki to have an understanding and appreciation of te reo me te tikanga Maori by weaving these throughout our curriculum and daily routines.

We love sharing and learning new waiata, purakau, words and games with our tamariki!

Here at Bizzy Bodz Huntly we are fortunate enough to have such a large outdoor area that our tamariki are able to explore and learn in!

We are privileged to have two big wonderful playgrounds for our older children, one small playground for our babies and a sandpit in both areas!  Next door is a local farm owned by the council, which has given us permission to use this to explore and play in with all of our tamariki!

Central Kids Kindergartens - Huntly West

At Central Kids Huntly West we offer many opportunities for tamariki to explore and learn through their own interests, both inside the kindergarten and within the wider community.

Becoming more sustainable and connecting tamariki with the wonders of nature is important to us. Children enjoy gardening alongside teaching staff and especially enjoy eating our strawberries and fresh peas from out of the pod.

Our oldest children are offered the opportunity to spend one day a week in the bush through our ngahere excursions where they get to explore in a completely natural environment, climbing trees, scaling and sliding down banks, finding creepy crawlies, working together, and setting their own challenges.

With our own newly purchased van we are also able to offer other either pre-planned or spontaneous small group age or interest appropriate excursions e.g. school, library, marae visits. Whanaungatanga and manaakitanga are values that we hold dear so we appreciate all whanau involvement whether it is just to stay for a cuppa or to offer your expertise.

Central Kids Kindergartens - Huntly

Central Kids Huntly Kindergarten has been proudly part of the Huntly community since 1952. We cater for children aged between 2 and 6 years of age, operating six-hour sessions five days a week.

Play is important at Central Kids Huntly. In a warm homelike environment, children are free to explore learning opportunities in their way and in their time. Promoting a culture of kindness our values include aroha, manaakitanga (hospitality), whakawhanaungatanga (relationships), and kotahitanga (unity).

We see children as capable learners and let them lead the way – the team creates the scene, based on their knowledge of each child.

Our kettle is always on and we welcome our Kindergarten community to come in and see us anytime.

Tic Tac Toe Educare Tots n Toddlers

Tic-tac-toe Educare has purposely designed indoor and outdoor learning environment as well as qualified and dedicated teachers who are passionate about Early Childhood Education and care.

Children will experience a fun, caring and safe environment where they learn and grow at their own pace and alongside peers. We use Te Whariki as our foundation for teaching, value the rich and diverse cultural resources children bring into our centres, and plan our learning programmes based on children’s learning needs and interest to foster independence, socialization and positive dispositions among them.

Research tells us of all the wonderful benefits our children receive from Early Childhood Education and learning through play. We make every endeavour to provide equitable learning opportunities and experiences to equip our tamariki with healthy body, mind and spirit, offer them a much greater chance to thrive and become happy, successful, competent and confident learners.

At Tic-tac-toe we make health and safety our top priority followed closely by learning and fun!

Tic-Tac-Toe Educare aims to make our centers the second home for our tamariki. We are committed to the principles surrounding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and work in partnership with whānau to establish a respectful, responsive and reciprocal relationship with the whole learning community. We believe environment is our third teacher, and work collectively to support children in their learning about respecting and caring for our nature, environment, equipment, resources and food.

Our philosophy

We aim to instil in our children a love of learning and enquiry.

  • Valuing emergent curriculum and spontaneous play and using children's interests as a means for further planning and/or extension into project work
  • Providing regular routines for kai and mat-times where all come together as a community and children have security of knowing the pattern of the day
  • Providing authentic and meaningful, hands-on experiences for children to foster children's literacy, mathematics, science, physical challenge and exploration
  • Natural inclusion of Te Reo Maori, waiata and Te Ao Maori so all children are exposed to the bicultural heritage of Aotearoa including Environmental Sustainability Practices
  • Valuing and maintaining a connectedness with the wider community
  • Developing close, respectful and reciprocal relationships with children and their families and whanau
  • Getting to know each child well, their strengths, interests and aspirations
  • Having an image of the child as a capable and active participant/collaborator in their own learning
  • Employing passionate teachers who observe, notice, recognise and respond to children's interests
  • Providing an interesting, stimulating and inviting learning environment that provides opportunities for self choice, exploration and challenge
  • Showing respect for, and inclusion of aspects of the cultures of all children attending the centre
  • Valuing child and whanau contributions to the programme
