Welcome to Busy Bees Mapua!

We are an early childcare centre, providing excellent care & education for children in the heart of Mapua. Our beautiful, homely centre caters for children from three months to six years.

Our centre is a real ‘home away from home’ for your little one, with lush gardens, peaceful play rooms and spacious outdoor areas with natural grass, to explore nature in a safe and loving environment.

Mapua Playcentre has been a prominent place for families in the Mapua community for over 60 years. We have a Qualified Supervisor on each session, whose experience and knowledge is invaluable, who works alongside our parents to create a diverse and enriching session. 

With the Abel Tasman on our doorstep we encourage nature play on session and regularly explore the wonders of our environment with trips to Rabbit Island allowing our tamariki to become familiar with Water, Marine life, Forests and all that the natural world has to offer.

Providing children with a nurturing, safe and calm learning environment where they are treated as unique individuals and are allowed to grow and develop in their own special way at their own pace.

Our mixed-age environment has been developed with two separate age-specific rooms, Nga Piwakawaka (6 months -2½ years) and Nga Tui (2½ years - school).  Our younger room ensures that infants and toddlers have a safe, warm personal environment with teachers who provide a dedicated caregiving approach, while our older room, Nga Tui, has a more structured daily routine along with plenty of opportunities for young imaginations to run wild!

Our outdoor environment allows children from both rooms to mix in social play while enjoying the lovely natural garden setting along with play equipment that is set-up to challenge, encourage and inspire young bodies and minds
