A little about us

Naturally Kids is a mixed-age centre, catering for children from 3 months to school age so your children will enjoy growing and learning with children of other ages and abilities, and can share their day with their brothers and sisters. Part of what makes Naturally Kids special is our wonderful space. The centre is bright and spacious with plenty of natural light and a homely atmosphere. Our garden area is designed to reflect our unique seaside location and provides a beautiful green space for the children to play, with modern equipment, grassed area and plenty of trees. We have garden beds where the children can witness the life-cycle of a butterfly unfold, a sunflower grow or plant vegetables to eat!  Good staff-to-child ratios and lots of space mean there is always room to explore and play, learn & grow…naturally.

The Naturally Kids Philosophy

Experiencing a natural childhood means being part of a family where people care about each other. In this environment children learn to nurture and lead. They share and communicate with younger and older children like brothers and sisters and are nurtured in relationships with adults who know them.

Children learn at an unhurried pace, exploring the world about them, developing their understanding of how things work. Caring adults respect children’s knowledge and skills and provide the bridge to extended learning.

A child’s day will include a time to play, create, to experiment, to laugh and have fun, to reflect and daydream. Parents, families, whanau and the community all have a part to play in growing the child. We value our partnership with parents as they share their precious child with us. A child’s parents help us learn about where the child comes from and their aspirations for the future. We are all enriched by the differences and diversity that are a natural part of life.

We embrace each families cultural values and practice, and recognise the unique place of Maori in this, our country, Aotearoa. Together we create a harmonious whole where children and teachers learn and grow naturally. Safe and confident, children know who they are and are ready to take their place in the world.
