We guide children with patience, love, and respect, offering meaningful experiences      in a well-resourced, natural environment that promotes sustainability. šŸŒ
  • Honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi: We integrate te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori (Māori language, beliefs, and values) into our daily curriculum, supporting children as Kaitiaki (guardians) of their own learning, each other, and their environment. We are committed to honouring our partnership with Te Tiriti o Waitangi. šŸ–¤šŸ’š

Our Values šŸŒˆ

At Kingdomcity Childcare, our core values guide everything we do:

  • Integrity, Honesty, Kindness, and Respect: These are the foundation stones of our centre, shaping how we interact with each child, family, and each other.

Northcote Early Learning Centre

Northcote is a beautifully designed, purpose-built Early Learning Centre with a stunning woodland backdrop, located in close proximity to Northcote Primary School. We believe in nurturing relationships to support childrenā€™s successful start to life in learning to learn, and pride ourselves on providing high-quality care and education, that reflects professional standards in partnership with our community. Our energetic and creative teaching team see children as active participants in their own learning, who investigate and explore as we guide their choices of play. We encourage childrenā€™s learning through natural invitations to explore, fun and engaging learning opportunities, and provoking environments. We would like to extend an invitation to all prospective parents and whanau to join us for a tour of our wonderful centre.

Our values

Pride

We take great pride in our high-quality care, facilities and the positive outcomes we generate for children

Growth

We strive for excellence in all facets of our business. In particular, supporting ongoing learning and continuous improvement of our teaching practice.

Kindness

We endeavour to act in ways that promote teamwork, integrity and thoughtfulness.

Play

We create environments where all of us are given the freedom to play.

Collaboration

We form partnerships with each other, our children and their families in respectful and honest ways.

Our team

The Educators believe that children learn and develop in an early childhood environment where they are happy and secure. We believe that the quality of the physical environment is essential to the well-being of the children and staff and that coupled with a quality educational programme, the parents will be confident that the choices they have made for their childā€™s education and care are the right ones. We also believe that quality Early Childhood experiences promote the development of the child and will increase the opportunity for success throughout the childā€™s life.

Our philosophy

We endeavour to provide children with a rich curriculum that fosters their identity as successful learners. The learning environment provides opportunities for children to learn through play within an enjoyable and fun atmosphere. Risk-taking and exploration are actively encouraged.

Professional and trusting relationships are nurtured between teacherā€™s children and their families. Teachers are attuned to childrenā€™s cues and respond appropriately. We strive to work in partnership with whānau to ensure parentā€™s aspirations for their childā€™s ongoing learning are met. Respect for self, others and the environment is modelled at all times. Inquiry-based learning is encouraged where children can explore and develop the skills and knowledge to be critical thinkers. Teachers recognise a childā€™s interest and use this as a catalyst for supporting children to develop learning dispositions along with new skills and knowledge.

Social competence is a key focus within the curriculum and promoting independence and self-help skills forms the foundation for preparing children to become life-long learners. Children are supported to take responsibility for their own learning and are encouraged to share it with those around them.

We value inclusiveness and understanding and accepting all differing cultures and beliefs. Commitment to the bi-cultural partnership inherent in Aotearoa New Zealand is evident in all aspects of our practice.

Outdoor learning environments

Our well-designed and generous playgrounds and outdoor spaces stimulate the diversity of childrenā€™s play experience and contribute to their healthy development. All of our outdoor environments incorporate trees, shrubs, vines, flowers, grasses, edible fruits and vegetables, connecting our tamariki with nature.

Food

Our carefully designed menu is a real point of difference for Eden Early Learning Centre. Unprocessed, natural, healthy ingredients, and mostly gluten-free; NZ grown and locally sourced. Whole nutrient-rich foods are used; including meat, vegetables, fruit, polenta, chia, quinoa, buckwheat etc. We have reduced processed foods and instead focused on whole foods to optimise nutrition.

Northcote Kindergarten

Kia ora and welcome to Northcote Kindergarten

Here at Northcote Kindergarten we have a strong focus on sustainability and protection of our natural resources.

Northcote Kindergarten is a participant in the Inclusion Project 2015.  The aim of this project is to make kindergarten accessible for everyone by focusing on the changing social, cultural and learning needs of children.

One of the other great features of Northcote Kindergarten is our focus on art and creativity.

Come and see for yourself!  Families are welcome to stay and play.

Here at Northcote Kindergarten we are dedicated to providing an exciting, richly resourced, child initiated and holistic learning environment that exposes passions and learning. Our kindergartens have early childhood qualified and registered teachers.  The teachers are dedicated to, and passionate about, early childhood education.  Each kindergarten has a head teacher plus teachers and support staff.  Quality learning programmes are based on the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, Te WhĆ£riki.

Our learning philosophy

For the past 110 years, the Auckland Kindergarten Association has been igniting young minds by encouraging them to explore their imaginations through play. For many of us, kindergarten was where we began our life of learning; it was where we started learning skills like sharing, tolerance, patience, respect and self-confidence.

We view children as capable, competent, life-long learners, and our philosophy encourages children to make their own learning choices, problem-solve and observe and explore at their own paceā€¦with support from teachers, parents, wider whānau and their peers. We value the importance of child-initiated, play-based experiences. Our kindergarten teachers nurture your childrenā€™s interests and natural curiosity by working alongside them, expanding language and introducing mathematical and science concepts, as well as literacy, digital technology and sustainable practices.

Our centres have gardens and natural outdoor spaces where children can create, explore, be imaginative and expressive. Thereā€™s plenty of room to safely run about, being imaginative and physically active. In fact, the natural world is essential to free-range play. AKA encourages each kindergarten community to explore and enrich their diversity and uniqueness. Some have regular excursions into the local community; some are Enviroschool kindergartens that live and breathe sustainable practices; while others engage in long-term research on child interest-based programmes of learning.

As an organisation, we formally acknowledge the dual heritage of Aotearoa / New Zealand, and work to uphold the spirit and intent of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in each kindergarten. We are accessible, secular and welcoming to the wide diversity of tamariki and whānau who attend our centres, and value ongoing partnerships between teaching teams and leadership staff with families and whānau. We value ongoing learning for teachers, parents and whānau, and the sharing of knowledge, skills and attributes is fundamental to achieving the best learning outcomes for children. Teachers and staff can access collegial professional time to ensure that quality practice is enhanced so current theories of learning and development within New Zealandā€™s world-class Te Whāriki early childhood curriculum are shared and understood.

Children learn

Children in our kindergartens have the opportunity to:

  • Feel confident, develop responsibility and a sense of independence
  • Play meaningfully alongside other children and adults
  • Develop effective communication skills
  • Persevere, problem-solve and take risks
  • Explore limits, boundaries, routines and conflict resolution strategies
  • Practice fine motor skills such as threading, writing, cutting and grasping
  • Develop gross motor play such as physical games like climbing, throwing, kicking, balancing and lifting
  • Develop creative expressions through painting, music, collage, movement, dance, finger-painting, drawing, cutting, pasting and story sharing
  • Develop early numeracy, literacy and science skills
  • Learn techniques through trial and error
  • Explore the world through experimenting, questioning and curiosity
  • Develop confidence and celebrate both attempts and successes
  • Develop a passion for learning and a love of life
  • Have fun!

Older children will be supported in their transition to school to make this process as simple and seamless as possible. Book a visit here on Kindello today, weā€™d love to meet you.

Learning Unlimited Childcare Centre

Located in the heart of Northcote, LU has been providing high quality care and education to children aged 3 months ā€“ 5 years old.

We are privately owned and operated, with warm, friendly, qualified staff.

Our centre is currently licensed for 62 children, and has small group sizes with excellent teacher/child ratios.

We believe that every child has the right to the highest quality early childhood care and education, and we ensure that is what we provide.

Learning Unlimited Childcare Philosophy

At Learning Unlimited Childcare centre, we strive to provide a warm, loving, fun and safe environment to our children. By following each childā€™s curiosity, creativity and interest, we create endless possibilities and opportunities for learning at our childcare setting.

Our philosophyā€™s development is based on the four principles of Te Whāriki, the National Early Childhood Curriculum. These principles are:

Family and community

At Learning Unlimited, we recognize the significance of the Treaty of Waitangi and therefore Te Reo (language) and Tikanga (custom) Maori are woven into our daily practice. We take pride in ourselves to be a community based as well as a multicultural centre.

Therefore we welcome families from different cultures and we value their contribution to complete the identity and uniqueness of our centre. We also believe in the inclusion of children with diverse needs and we will modify our curriculum where possible to support all children in their learning.

Empowerment

We are committed to prepare and plan our environment in such a way to foster positive self-image and confidence in the children at LU.

We believe in the power of positive role-modelling, which has a profound influence on our children. Through role-modelling, our teachers strive to promote many internal skills such  as perseverance, curiosity, conscientiousness, optimism in our children, which help the children become independent, life-long learners and contributing members of the society.

Holistic Development

We aim to always be aware of each childā€™s individual interests, strengths and levels of development.

This serves as the foundation of our curriculum which aims to foster development of children in the cognitive, spatial, social-emotional, spiritual, logical, physical and language domains. Values play an important role within our programme. We encourage children to think laterally about how they respond and the effect on others. We believe that a successful life has as much to do with emotions and behavior as it does with academic achievement (Gayne, 2004). Excellent facilities and resources are provided to promote both gross and fine motor skills development.

Relationships:

We strive to meet the needs of parents/whānau, who play the primary role in the development of their children.

It is paramount to establish and maintain reciprocal relationships between staff, children and their parents/ whānau. Children and their parents/whānau are greeted warmly as they arrive at the centre. Management and staff are always available to talk to parents regarding to their suggestions and concerns
