Gisborne Community Early Education Centre Te Whare Tiaki Tamariki
Welcome to the Gisborne Community Early Education Centre - Te Whare Tiaki Tamariki.
Our team of qualified and experienced early childhood education teachers provide a warm and welcoming environment where children are encouraged to learn and develop through the all-important first 5 years of their life.
Located in the Central Business District of Gisborne/Turanga-nui-a-kiwa, the centre is situated on the banks of the Taruheru River. Picturesque views of the spring tides and riverside bird life set the scene for quality early childhood education and care.
We are inspired by the Pikler/RIE and Reggio philosophies and have a long established Tautoko System (Primary Care) approach. We believe that genuine relationship building is the key to all children’s learning and have an inquiry approach to teaching and learning. Children’s working theories are built upon, by empowering them to question, reason and problem solve.
