BestStart Greerton is a hidden gem, situated in a busy area of Greerton with a beautiful natural backdrop. We're in Maleme Street, right next to the Fire Station, convenient for families travelling from Pyes Pa, Oropi, Tauriko, Welcome Bay and Greerton. Our centre has a lovely atmosphere and cares for children, aged zero to six all year round.

A Place to Respect our world - Respect and care for our environment is very important to us. We encourage thoughts of Papatūānuku in our daily activities. Children learn about sustainability through activities such as recycling and building a natural playground. Children learn about the natural world, from our place to the wider world and the endless gifts nature provides us every day. 

A Place to Respect ourselves and others - We support our children to develop their knowledge about wellbeing. Through healthy eating, physical movement and emotional wellbeing our children learn about the importance of looking after themselves and the people around them. We also support our breast-feeding mothers, working together and alongside them. We are committed to being a progressive and responsive leader in early-childhood education. We do this by enhancing our services, investing in our people, developing our support structure and continuously improving the educational outcomes and experiences of our children, families and the communities we serve.

Some facts:

• We’re licensed to educate and care for 15,000 full-time children daily.
• 18,000 families use BestStart services annually.
• We have over 270 centres nationwide located from Whangarei to Invercargill.
• Each centre is managed by a Centre Manager who is supported by a local Area Manager. This gives our centre teams ongoing quality training and support.
• Te Whāriki, the world-wide acclaimed national early childhood education curriculum, is used in all centres.
• We have over 4500 permanent teachers nationally. Over 90% of our permanent teaching staff are either fully qualified with a diploma or bachelor of teaching (ECE) or higher, or are in training. These figures are very high by national standards within the ECE sector.
• We provide a two-year Advice and Guidance Programme for all recently certified teachers, providing further mentoring and training. This gives strong support for teachers from provisional registration to full teacher registration with the NZ Teachers Council.
• We regularly spend around $4 million on teacher training per annum.

Greerton Village Kindergarten

Where the learning adventure begins! Located just next to Greerton Village Primary School, we're set back from the hustle and bustle of the main road. Follow the long driveway to find fun, outdoor play and a ton of new learning adventures! You'll discover our large outdoor play area, brimming full of nature - it's Greerton's best kept secret! We encourage tree climbing, messy play and exploring our vege patch. Because, learning in and about nature is a big part of who we are...

Our teaching team are passionate kaiako/teachers. We're 100% degree-qualified and are dedicated to nurturing each child's well-being. We create a safe, encouraging environment so they can explore, imagine, discover and to be their unique selves.

Greenpark Pre-school is a privately owned and operated education and care centre located in a residential suburb of Tauranga. It is licensed for 45 children from birth to school age, including up to 16 under the age of two years. 

The centre’s philosophy promotes whanaungatanga – where relationships are a focus to enhance children’s learning. The philosophy documents the intent to celebrate the achievement and to support children’s progress without interference through movement, and a peaceful respectful approach to learning.
