Pohutukawa Preschool

Our team of professional, loving, passionate and enthusiastic teachers are committed to improving learning outcomes for our children. Our kaiako work in partnership with parents and whanau, we always have an open door and encourage parents and whanau to stay and play.

UNIQUE POINTS

  • Purpose built facilities include three activity areas Infant and Toddler-Teina Room, Toddler and Preschool-Tuakana Room and Kindy Room. The Teina and Tuakana Rooms are next to each other so siblings can be together. We embrace whanaungatanga and tuakana teina, where we all learn and grow together. Full day enrolments will be encouraged in these rooms to ensure sustained and uninterrupted care and learning. The Kindy room offers 20 hours ECE sessions of 4, 5 and 6 hours per day. We will have an emphasis on a bi-cultural curriculum and focus on transition to school.
  • Parents and whanau share their values, beliefs and aspirations they have for their children. We set learning goals on a regular basis and provide meaningful learning experiences to meet these goals. Individual learning goals, structured and emergent learning are the foundation to our programme.
  • To ensure families have quality time together, we have created the convenience of providing kai-food, cows milkfor bottles, nappies, wipes and sunscreen.
  • We grow our own fruit and vegetables and use them to cook nutritious meals.
  • Our longer opening hours of 7am to 6pm cater for working families.
  • Wrap around support for families, linking them to people who can help.
  • 100% NZ locally owned and operated.
