A little about us

Wattle Cove Early Learning is situated in a small growing community in Wattle Downs in Manurewa. We are surrounded by small reserves the beach and many parks.

We are a high quality, well resourced Early learning Centre well-staffed with qualified, registered teachers and teachers in training. We enrol children from 6 months – 5 years old, offering enrolment attendance from 2-5 days per week.

Here at Wattle Cove Early Learning, we invite you and your whānau (family) to experience an environment that welcomes individuality and promotes lifelong learning. We value you as part of our community and encourage you to be involved in your child's journey through their preschool years. We look forward to collaboratively creating valuable learning opportunities for your child.

Our spacious, natural indoor and outdoor learning environments provide children with the opportunity to make their own choices and be affirmed as capable and independent learners.

Our affordable fees include nutritious morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and late snacks for children who attend full days.

Our Programme

Our centre is inspired by the Pikler and Reggio theories and approaches. These embrace love and respect where children develop at their own pace through inquiry learning. Our environment is structured so children have freedom of choice and the opportunity to explore in an unhurried manner. Teachers (kaiako) support children’s inquiry learning and together become co-researchers.

Wattle Cove Early Learning has built strong relationships and open communication with surrounding schools to enhance the development of positive ongoing transitions to school for all children attending our centre.

Te Whāriki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum underpins programme planning along with ongoing individual assessment, documentation, and planning for children. It encompasses the cultural heritage of both partners to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
