Te Kauwhata Childcare & Learning Centre

We are a well-established centre which has been operating since 1999 and offers care and education for children from six months old to school age. We are licensed for 29 over three year olds and 10 under threes.

We have an expansive outdoor area with plenty of natural space. Children enjoy access to spacious and attractive outdoor environments inviting exploration and a variety of physical challenges.

Located right across from Te Kawhata Primary School, we undertake school visits twice a term and have a close relationship with the teachers at the school. While we provide morning and afternoon tea, children are asked to bring their own lunches – teaching them to be accountable for their own lunchboxes and encouraging them to make good food choices for themselves.

Our programmes are child-led, with children learning from their own interests. We create a positive, warm environment so children can be successful, thrive and take risks. Children learn through playing, and we encourage social competency, building friendships and problem-solving skills.
