Rural Childcare

At Evergreen Early Learning Centre, we embrace the beauty and wonder of the natural world, providing children with the quintessential kiwi backyard experience. Our daily rhythms are harmonized with the elements of nature, allowing children to immerse themselves in the fresh air, bask in the sunshine, and delight in the simple joys of playing in the mud or being at one with nature.

We are committed to nurturing and, instilling in your child a sense of responsibility and care for the environment. Through hands-on experiences, such as caring for animals, tending to our orchard, plants, and participating in food production processes like cooking, and sharing the produce we grow, or collecting eggs from the chickens. Tamariki (children) are actively engaged in sustainable practices that connect them to the Earth.

Our approach includes feeding food waste back to the animals, highlighting the connection of all living beings and the importance of conservation balance. Through these experiences, our children develop a deep understanding of environmental stewardship, learning how to care for our planet and weaving sustainable practices into their daily lives.
