Nau mai haere mai, Te Kamo Kindergarten operates as part of the Northland Kindergarten Association and is situated at 5 Farmer Street, Kamo.
Te Kamo Kindergarten Philosophy is based around support for each other, respecting our whānau and their cultures, celebrating and acknowledging success, and upmost we are always striving for improved learning outcomes for our tamariki.
Te Kamo Kindergarten is a proud Bronze Enviroschool. We are learning about, celebrating and empowering tamariki to look after, Papatūānuku. Enviroschools is a whole centre journey, incorporating knowledge and ideas from Kaiako, tamariki, whānau and the wider community. We are guided in our mahi by the Enviroschools Kaupapa which highlights five Guiding Principles – Ngā Mātāpono – Learning for Sustainability, Māori Perspectives, Empowered Students, Respect for the Diversity of People and Cultures and Sustainable Communities. These are embedded in our Kindergarten Philosophy, procedures and curriculum planning.
Our two Pou at the entrance of our kindergarten reflect our strong commitment to building and maintaining a great sense of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, as well as acknowledging our Tangata Whenua. Alongside the addition of our Pou we were also gifted the name Te Kamo Kindergarten as an additional acknowledgement of all of the above.
