Welcome to Pāpāmoa Kindergarten
Located right next door to Te Akau ki Papamoa Primary School on Doncaster Drive, Pāpāmoa Kindergarten boasts a stunning outdoor environment where tamariki/children can thrive and connect with nature.
We are extremely passionate about Education for Sustainability (EfS) and a strong focus of our programme is developing childrens' knowledge and understanding about caring for the environment. As a result of our passion and commitment to EfS we were one of the first Kindergartens in New Zealand to achieve the prestigious Green-Gold EnviroSchools status.
Our kindergarten philosophy developed in consultation with our whānau is based upon six pou/foundational posts. Whanaungatanga/relationships, ako/teaching & learning, wairuatanga/spirituality, manakitanga/kindness & generosity, rangatiratanga/leadership, and social justice are the posts we believe reflect the very essence of our place.
Our very experienced teaching team places a strong emphasis on providing an authentic, inclusive learning programme that caters for and reflects all childrens' needs and interests. We endeavor to build learning power in our tamariki through supporting all of our children to become better learners. Knowing how they learn, and supporting them in exercising their learning muscles is crucial if children are to be confident and competent life long learners in the 21st century.
