Nau Mai Haere Mai ki te whare kohungahunga o Raumanga – Welcome to Raumanga Kindergarten
Our love of teaching and learning is celebrated through a whanaungatanga approach – where everyone is welcomed and encouraged to participate.
Children, family, teachers and our wider community together, contribute towards our community of learners. We embrace tuākana-teina (sibling like relationships) encouraging whānau to attend our kindergarten together.
We are a four-teacher team with 30 children attending all day and are opened for the full year. Our Kindergarten is a pro-active and progressive learning environment, inviting all families to be part of a collective culture that empowers children, whānau, and teachers.
As a team our attitude reflects the commitment we have to Te Tiriti O Waitangi as we consider our Te Ao Māori approach and practices to be a developing strength within our team. We actively support our tamariki to lead mihiwhakatau (simplified powhiri for new tamariki and Whanau) and Wa hui ata (morning gathering time).
We celebrate inclusion with our multicultural nights supported by regular talanoa (meetings with Fanu) and through learning and practicing Pasifika dance.
We are passionate about connecting tamariki to nature and offering them natural play opportunities. We hold a weekly firepit and have won a Kauri scholarship focused on creating opportunities for a weekly visit to our local ngahere (bush reserve) and learning about local purakau (stories).
We charge NO FEES for quality education! We partner with KidCan to provide healthy meals for our tamariki!
We have available our visiting family support worker Kara-Lee Keriwaro and Anahera Lauterbach our Speech and Language Therapist. We run weekly speech and language groups to support our tamariki with additional language needs.
We welcome all children 2 years and over to attend our kindergarten. Feel free to call in anytime for a visit and see our fantastic environment and meet our amazing Team!
Nau mai- haere mai!
