To support kaiako, tamariki and whānau to understand the strength and value in ako in our community. We ensure our rural community is provided with quality early childhood education that flows on to our local kura, through experienced educators. We aspire to empower kaiako, tamariki and whānau to take on a growth mindset and explore new beginnings.
Our Philosophy – Nga kaupapa whakaaro
Tokomaru Early Childhood Centre provides an inviting place of discovery and learning for tamariki where they develop a strong sense of wellbeing and belonging. Whānau and Kaiako work together to enhance the whanaketanga of our littlest learners.
We encourage parents to be active participants in their child’s journey and feedforward into the centre’s operations through a range of opportunities. We are aware of our communities needs and find innovative ways to encourage whānau engagement.
Our staff foster a growth mindset and continuously review and revise the way in which learning is delivered. We embrace child-initiated learning and support each child on their individual learning path. Our centre’s curriculum encompasses our core values of Manaakitanga, Whakawhanaungatanga, Ako, Kaitiakitanga and Mana Tangata.
