A little about us

Kia ora, Welcome to Strawberry Garden Childcare

We are a beautiful homely childcare centre passionate about creating a curriculum focused on loving care and kindness. Our centre is family-owned and operated and our leadership team are heart-centered and committed to providing the highest quality care and education for your child.

Our Nursery room team specialises in providing loving care and attention for our infants and toddlers. This room has up to twelve children with three teachers - your little one will flourish nurtured by our heart-centered team.

The Preschool room caters for up to 24 children with three to four teachers who love to learn alongside your child as they explore with wonder, curiosity and creatively express their ideas in our nature-rich indoor and outdoor learning space

We believe young children deserve the very best loving care and education.

At Strawberry Garden Childcare we know that children thrive when teachers know them well and treat them with loving care and attention. Nurturing relationships, an unhurried programme and creating a culture of kindness are a few of our guiding priorities.

We believe the indoor and outdoor learning space has the potential to act as a powerful third teacher. Therefore, we take special care to design and set up learning experiences and environments that are interesting, inviting and help facilitate children's learning. Our Centre Values

A great place to grow

We are committed to making Strawberry Garden a great place for both children and adults to learn and grow. Providing exemplary care and education requires teachers keeping up to date with current theory and best practice. We employ teachers who love to learn and embrace the opportunity to learn. We provide our team with excellent mentoring and professional development support. Each child has their own key teacher who oversees their individual learning plan and helps guide and nurture their love for learning and their development

Individualised care and education

We aim to provide a space for children to relax, rest and learn at their own pace. We prepare an enriching learning environment and experiences for children based on their interests. Children's care moments and daily routines are flexible acknowledging the unique individuality of each child. Teachers collaborate with parents to develop a learning plan for each child that celebrates their capabilities and supports their ongoing development.

A culture of kindness

Children do best when they are treated with understanding, patience and loving kindness. Our focus is to communicate and work alongside children in ways that acknowledges them as partners in their learning journey. We listen carefully to what children say and help them to express their ideas knowing that their contribution is valued. One of our goals is for every child to start school with well developed social skills that help them to share their ideas and work harmoniously alongside their peers.

Making life easier for families

We want to take the stress out of your day by providing almost everything your child needs for their day. Having nutritious snacks nappies, sun screen and milk for bottles provided gives you less to worry about. We want to make your life easier and do our best to help you. You are welcome to ring or ping (message) us anytime for updates about your child or to share information with us. We will post photos and updates about your child directly to your phone APP (that we will help you set up if needed) so you can keep in touch with your child's learning journey.

Resourcefulness

We reuse, recycle and up cycle and in doing so role-model and encourage problem solving and creative thinking. We appreciate families bringing in recycled materials like bottle tops, baking tins, bread tags, ribbons and other items no longer needed.
