Rising Stars Preschool

Rising Stars Preschool Rising Stars Preschool is a privately owned centre located inside an Indoor Sports Stadium in Waiwhakaiho, New Plymouth. The centre is a pack-away centre and is licensed for 60 children over the age of two years old.

At Rising Stars Preschool we recognise that play is a crucial part of physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual development for nga tamariki. Our aim is to provide access to a variety and enriched play experiences within our centre environment. 

Our dedicated and passionate Kaiako and Physical Literacy Educators provide quality care and education with play as a cornerstone in our approach to our curriculum. 

Our unique physical literacy curriculum is centred around how nga tamariki naturally learn through movement. It is designed to support children to develop physical wellbeing (taha tinana) by enhancing their personal health, strengthening physical and neurological development and increasing concepts and expressions of movement (te ao kori).  

Through meaningful play experiences, social interaction, and Aotearoa’s early childhood curriculum Te Whariki our professionally trained Kaiako support nga tamariki to develop and enhance their mental and emotional well-being (taha hinengaro). 

At Rising Stars we acknowledge that all parts of nga tamariki well-being are interconnected therefore we work in partnership and collaboration with our families and community (taha whanau) to support positive outcomes for our tamariki. We value the aspirations and beliefs our families (taha wairua) hold and bring to our preschool.
