Welcome to Plum Tree Preschool
At Plum Tree Preschool in Millwater, we provide high-quality education and care for up to 30 children in a calm, nurturing environment where every child is truly known. With small group sizes, excellent teacher-to-child ratios, and a long-standing team of passionate educators, your child is cared for by familiar faces every day, creating the security and trusting relationships that help children thrive.
A Place Where Children Are Seen, Heard and Valued
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we believe children are capable, curious and creative learners. We take time to listen to their ideas, follow their interests and provide meaningful experiences that allow their learning to unfold at an unhurried pace.
Our rich creative programme encourages children to express themselves in many different ways. Through drawing, painting, clay, screen printing, loose parts, light exploration and a wide range of natural materials, children bring their ideas to life while developing confidence, problem-solving skills and a lifelong love of learning.
Learning Beyond Our Gates
Our beautiful local environment is an extension of our classroom. Regular adventures to the neighbouring park, local bush and community spaces give children opportunities to explore nature, build resilience, develop physical confidence and connect with the world around them.
We also enjoy visits to the library, local schools and community events, with families warmly welcomed to join us on many of our outings.
Growing Respect for Our Environment
Caring for our world is woven throughout our programme. Children actively participate in recycling, caring for our worm farm, growing vegetables and herbs, and nurturing swan plants that attract monarch butterflies. Following the butterfly life cycle gives children a meaningful understanding of nature while fostering respect and responsibility for the environment.
Supporting Every Child's Journey
Preparing children for school is about much more than learning letters and numbers. Through strong partnerships with local schools, including regular visits to neighbouring schools, children develop the confidence, independence, social skills and self-help abilities that support a positive transition to school.
Working in Partnership with Families
We believe parents are children's first teachers and value the relationships we build with every family. We take the time to listen, communicate openly and work together to support each child's unique interests, strengths and needs. When families share their aspirations, we genuinely follow through, creating learning experiences that are meaningful for each child.
At Plum Tree Preschool, children are given the time, space and encouragement to become confident, capable learners in an environment where they feel a true sense of belonging.
We'd love to welcome your family to Plum Tree Preschool. Come and see what makes our little preschool so special.
