A little about us
At Hawera Kindergarten we believe:
- The paua and it’s beautiful shell inspires our thinking about learners
- The paua needs a healthy environment and time to grow.
- It also needs protection and
- It needs a rock (a firm foundation) to anchor itself to.
- It is often exposed to changes in its environment – tides, weather, water – but survives because of its firm foundation.
- It should be valued for it’s potential as a source of food and the shells beauty.
- It takes time and effort to reveal it’s inner beauty.
Nga mihi ki nga whānau
- Whānau are welcome at kindergarten sessions and events and will be encouraged to contribute in their own way and time, and be involved in the programme and their child’s learning.
- We tautoko whānau in their role as parents/caregivers.
- We recognise and value the skills and experiences whanau can bring to our programme/kindergarten.
- We recognise and value the uniqueness of all whānau.
Nga mihi ki nga taiao
