At Stratford Playcentre our tamariki learn through play. Playcentre offers many opportunities for children to get messy, explore, create and grow. We focus on child-led learning, meaning that each day we offer various learning experiences for children to choose from. A typical day includes many activities such as: painting, playdough, sandpit, swings, slides, science activities and dressing up. We plan each term to cater for the different needs and interests of all our children.
Playcentre is not just for the children. It is fun for parents too when joining in with the children’s activities and meeting other parents. The added bonus is the Education Programme provided for parents within the centre. The Programme supports the informal learning taking place, leading to an increase in parenting and Early Childhood Education skills.
