A little about us

Our centre provides a ‘home away from home’, nurturing and cosy environment, with spacious outdoor play areas.  Nestled under the lovely backdrop of the Remutaka Ranges, in the beautiful Wairarapa Region, we offer excellent care & education for local families in the community.

Your child will love the well laid out learning corners, consisting of family play, creative art corner and a quiet space for reading and reflection.  There’s also plenty of natural resources with space to explore.

Our qualified, experienced teachers are warm, welcoming and fun. They guide our tamariki to engage in challenging experiences. We treat all children with respect. Plus, we provide equal opportunities to ensure your child gets the best start in life.

Parents love the rich sense of community, and our curriculum reflects our philosophy for strong relationships. It values input from parents, teachers, whanau, children and our wonderful community.

Sustainability

We introduce sustainable habits and practices to our children by encouraging them to reduce, reuse and recycle.  We also keep worm farms and grow our own veggies in our very own Kids garden.

Using Storypark significantly reduces the amount of paper used for forms and newsletters.

We use local suppliers and partners where possible, supporting the sustainability of businesses in our community.

We believe every little bit helps to ensure sustainability for our precious future generations!

Connecting Children with Nature

The natural world is a giant, open-ended learning laboratory. Children are innate scientists and love to experience the sights, scents, sounds, and textures of the outdoors.

Whether it’s growing vegetables, creating a masterpiece with dirt, twigs and sand, watch worms wriggle through the soil, gazing at clouds, jumping in puddles, listening to birds sing, smelling fresh-cut grass and collecting seeds – any outdoor learning experience is always a positive one!

We are proud to offer all of the above opportunities through our very own natural outdoor environment right here at our Centre – some KEY benefits to spending time outside include: Increasing involvement in physical activity, enhancing cognitive abilities, creativity and imaginative play.  It also supports problem solving, improves self confidence, promotes advanced motor development including fitness, co-ordination and agility.
