At Greytown Kindergarten our fully qualified Kaiako/teachers support and encourage children's play, scaffolding their interests allowing tamariki to reach their full potential and to expand their ever growing basket of knowledge. This supports our tamariki to develop a lifelong love of learning.
Kaiako are focused on establishing and maintaining meaningful reciprocal relationships with tamariki, whanau and the wider community.
The Kaiako respects the cultural diversity of whanau and tamariki and provides a bi cultural curriculum which upholds the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The Maori values of Ako, Whanaungatanga and Manaakitanga are embedded within our practices, planning and assessment.
The importance of the natural world is recognised and supported in our learning environment. We have a well established Forest Kindergarten programme where we explore our local O'Connors Bush on a regular basis with parent support.
