We work to ensure each child is empowered, respected, and genuinely cared for. We believe that this will set every child up for success. To have a sense of belonging and they are valued for who they are, that they are capable of making choices and running their own programme that interests and inspires their passion. We support them through their learning journey, stepping in when they invite us and stepping back when they are discovering their own learning.
Our Philosophy starts here with these theorists:
Mary Ainsworth’s attachment theory is the attachment between a child and a caregiver/ teacher. When this attachment is trusting, respectful and honest the child feels safe and secure and will settle well in their environment. This is the foundation of everything for a child to know they are respected, cared for, and empowered. Without this attachment, nothing else will develop in a child.
Montessori Philosophy. The Montessori Method is founded on Maria Montessori’s educational philosophy. Her basic principle was to “follow the child”. A Montessori classroom is carefully prepared to allow the child to work independently and allow for the joy of self-discovery. Teachers introduce materials and children are free to choose them.
The basis of Magda's Gerber's RIE philosophy is respect for, and trust in the baby to be an initiator, an explorer, and a self-learner. Magda encouraged parents and caregivers to provide: An environment for the child that is physically safe, cognitively challenging, and emotionally nurturing. Time for uninterrupted play.
