The Salvation Army Early Childhood Education Centre is a community-based early education centre catering for ages 0-6 years. We are a small family size childcare with capacity for 20 two to six year old children and 8 infants and toddlers.
The Salvation Army Early Childhood Education Centre provides quality early childhood education with a Christian emphasis. At our centres we place a strong emphasis on allowing children to learn through play. We provide individualised learning programmes based on each child’s interests, using a varied range of opportunities and experiences.
Te Whāriki, the Ministry of Education’s early childhood curriculum is woven throughout our programme. This emphasises the learning partnership between teachers, parents, and families. Te Whāriki ensures that children are taught literacy and numeracy skills in an age-appropriate manner. Our centres receive regular positive reviews from the Education Review Office (ERO). It is important to us that your children are well cared for. We value our trusted relationships with each child and family and want ‘our place’ to become ‘your place’.
Our childcare also provides the Space parenting programme four mornings a week providing capacity for up to 15 babies and first time parents to learn more about their parenting journey during the first year of life.
Our childcare is located in a community hub facility which includes other services to benefit your family such as a playgroup, fruit and vege co-op, counselling, food bank, and other social support services.
