Conveniently located onsite at Johnsonville School, Premier Preschool is an innovative concept in pre-school education. We see preschool education as part of the whole sphere of learning and strive to enable children to experience a seamless and confident transition on to school.
We offer a comprehensive developmentally appropriate preschool programme that incorporates the principles of Te Whariki, the ECE Curriculum, with a strong focus on enhancing literacy and mathematical knowledge, skills, and concepts. This programme is created through ongoing observations and assessments of each individual child. We begin with a focus on each child’s interests, extending their knowledge, skills, and dispositions. Children’s learning is enhanced with our knowledge of child development as well as life experience, and an ongoing commitment to professional development and learning within the team.
The teachers work alongside children in a positive and affirming manner, building warm, caring relationships with them as we guide, challenge, assist and question to extend their thinking in a powerful learning environment; always promoting their health, well-being and safety which creates a fun-filled environment to help children to be more receptive to learning.
We believe in showing respect to each child and their family, recognising, empowering, and celebrating cultural heritage and acknowledging different beliefs and values. We provide equitable opportunities for all children and strive to develop an awareness of right and wrong, fairness and justice.
