Our Rooms

We provide three separate age-related rooms, each with their own well-equipped outdoor space. The outdoor spaces are connected by small fences and gates that allow our older and younger children to communicate and interact with one another. We find it very beneficial, especially for the siblings whom we have in each room.

Pukeko Infant Room

This room caters for a maximum of 17 children aged 3 to 18 months. We have three core full-time teachers plus one part-time teacher that works across the Infants and Toddlers to cover lunches and non-contact. We offer a teacher to child ratio of 1 to 4 and follow the children’s individual routines in an unhurried, respectful environment.

Kiwi Toddlers Room

This room has a maximum of 17 children aged 18 months to 2.5 years, with a teacher to child ratio of 1 to 6. We have four full-time core teachers plus cover for lunches and non-contact when needed. In our Kiwi Room we continue to follow each individual child’s routine but with a little more structure. We have lunch around 11.30am and conduct short age appropriate group time before lunch.

Kea Pre-schoolers Room

We have a maximum of 30 children aged 2.5 to 6 years in this room with a ratio of 1 to 8. We have five full-time core staff members in the room, and a more structured routine, including group times with age appropriate activities before lunch (which is served at 11:45am).  We do still have some children who sleep in this room, so we have a quiet room that converts to our sleeping area after lunch.
