FUNdamentals Marshland Preschool Specialised learning in Christchurch
Fundamentals facilitates an environment which embraces and captures the importance of being a child. Our preschool has a strong focus on fun and physical well being. We have opportunities for structured learning times while not forgetting that the most significant learning for children happens through play. We recognise the importance of living life to the full and encourage an environment for children that promotes living a well balanced life.
Our core values of Fun, Teamwork, Respect and ensuring that everyone has a Love of Learning are all part of our daily practices. The point of difference for Fundamentals Preschool is the uniqueness of our on site gym room. Children enrolled at Marshlands Fundamentals have regular access to this extra space, enabling them to partake in our Perceptual Motor Programme daily.
Our team all have a strong knowledge and bring unique skills that are utilized within the development and implementation of our PMP programme, all to provide children with opportunities to grow holistically while building confidence, playing and being happy.Our Preschool, located on the corner of Preston’s and Marshland’s Roads, has a HUGE outdoor space for your children, an onsite gym and ample parking. We are licensed for 40 children aged 3 months to 6 years old and maximise the use of our spacious indoor and outdoor environments.
At Fundamentals we believe in providing the building blocks for success in learning. This comes through creating habits of the children’s mind that inspire them to want and need to learn all the time. These foundations are established in the formative years (0-6 years of age). The way to achieve a successful framework is to provide, right from the start, a stimulating, challenging, exciting and fun environment that will assist the children to develop their natural abilities through individual and collective learning opportunities.
The environment at Fundamentals Preschools provides children with opportunities to take charge of their own learning, to become risk takers and grow, learn and discover with their friends.
Fundamentals Marshland provide low ratios being 2 teachers to every 5 children under the age of 2 years old, and 1 teacher to every 7 children aged 2-6 year old.
Tamariki and Kaiako experience an environment where everyone respects themselves, others and the environment and that Tuakana Teina is part of the culture (looking after each other)
