Philosophy

Management and teachers would like to welcome you and your family to Crackerjax Early Learning Centre. At Crackerjax we aim to provide children with high quality education in a nurturing and caring environment which will support a child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. This is achieved by supplying a stimulating, secure and loving environment supported by confident qualified Early Childhood Educators.

We value the importance of learning through play, acknowledging individual interests, strengths and abilities however we also encourage children to participate in group activities. We will strive for a balance between teacher-directed and child-initiated activities, providing the foundation of a developmentally appropriate early childhood program.

Children learn best when they are engaged in experiences they are interested in, where peers, adults, teachers, parents/whānau work together to increase understanding, respect and knowledge. We feel it is important and valuable for parents, guardians and whānau to show interest and be part of their child’s learning. This will encourage the sense of belonging with increasing knowledge of the child’s community and the world around them. We believe with this foundation children will become curious, well-rounded learners, able to make independent choices, act responsibly and have positive self-image.
