Petone kindergarten is situated in a 1980s purpose built centre in Tennyson Street, Petone.
We provide an environment where children and their family/whanau are welcomed and respected. Children and adults will find the kindergarten to be a safe, caring community where they can belong and participate and have a ‘place to stand’ or turangawaewae.
We trust children’s competence and provide an environment that embraces children’s mana and holistic learning by respecting temperaments, dispositions, learning styles, abilities and interests. Children are supported to develop a strong sense of self determination, and to have ownership of their choice of play and learning. Together we discover that learning is fun.
