A little about us

We provide quality care and education for children aged two to five years old. Our centre is located on Chester Street in the converted Manse of the Riversdale Presbyterian Church.

Qualified and experienced teachers, excellent ratios and our Christian based program ensure all children attending receive the best in quality care and education.

Children experience a supportive and challenging environment where their individual needs are paramount. Our program is based on Te Whariki, the national Early Childhood Curriculum framework, which aims to encourage each child's physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development.  We also value the teachings of Jesus Christ and base our work with children on his message.

We value the involvement of parents and whanau within our centre and work to establish reciprocal relationships with parents/caregivers/whanau to support and extend their children's learning.

PHILOSOPHY

We are a Christian based Early Learning Centre and our teaching reflects the values found in the Bible.

We celebrate the individuality of each child to enable them to learn and develop as confident, competent and enthusiastic learners, as well as become respectful contributors to society and fulfil the potential God has created them with.

We support children’s wellbeing and development by nurturing them through positive guidance as well as encouraging the values of Love, Joy, Peace, patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Humility and Self Control.

We believe learning begins at home and work in partnership with family/whanau and community to value and build on the knowledge and experiences that children bring with them.

We provide a warm, caring family/whanau like environment which values quality care, education and fosters the principle of “ako” (a reciprocal teaching and learning relationship).

We honour the principles of Partnership,

Protection and Participation based on the Treaty of Waitangi.

VISION

To provide a nurturing learning environment which supports children to build positive and respectful relationships through Christian values, partnering with family and connecting with the local community.

CORE VALUES

To facilitate childrens individual and social development by supporting them with positive guidance as well as teaching the values of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Humility and Self Control.
