Welcome to Gingerbread Cottage, a licensed home-based childcare service operating under the umbrella organization, Edubase, and regulated by the Ministry of Education. Our team of qualified Early Childhood Education Visiting Teachers works closely with each family to provide personalized care and education for the preschool child placed in our care.
At Gingerbread Cottage, our teaching team is passionate about offering quality care and education to preschoolers. We prioritize enriching the learning of every tamariki and forming strong community connections by developing links within their home and learning environments. Our approach is guided by the NZ Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whāriki, and we strive to impart knowledge and understanding of the cultural heritage of both partners to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
We foster respectful and reciprocal relationships through comfortable, small group sizes, promoting tikanga Maori within our practice. Our ultimate goal is to instill respect for people, places, and things while shaping Aotearoa and developing an appreciation of New Zealand's dual heritage.
