Matakana Village Preschool

At Matakana Village Preschool we offer quality early childhood education that aims to build the child’s emotional intelligence and security through positive interactions with teachers and each other.
Once these foundations are in place children will reach their academic milestones through a mixture of play based and teacher directed activity. Interactions are based on mutual respect and children’s current interests form a basis of our ever changing programme. We view the child as competent and confident, having the ability to direct their learning while using the well resourced environment as a tool.
Family is essential to our curriculum and also to the children’s emotional and academic achievements, we work in partnership with parents and whanau to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children whom attend.
We acknowledge and respect the heritage of New Zealand and incorporate Te Reo Maori into our everyday practice, we uphold Ti Tiriti o Waitangi though our teaching practice and are committed to acknowledging and embracing the diverse cultures that exist within Aoteaora.
At Matakana Village Preschool we are committed to sustainable living and minimizing our ecological footprint.
We place high importance on the natural world and this is explored and extended though providing experiences and resources to help children gain an understanding of the world in which we live.
