Welcome to Creative Garden Flat Bush, where we provide exceptional education and care for tamariki aged 3 months to 6 years. Conveniently located within a 10-minute drive of the newly opened Ormiston Town Centre, and just a short drive to both Manukau and Botany town centres, our centre is easily accessible for busy families.
At Creative Gardens Flat Bush, we take pride in being a multicultural centre that values and respects the diverse cultures of our staff, children, and whanau. Located on Dawson Road, our long-established teaching team has built strong connections with the surrounding community.
Creative Garden Flat Bush is thoughtfully divided into three rooms. Our under-2’s, known as the Little Tuis, have their own dedicated play space, allowing them to explore in a safe environment under the watchful eye of our dedicated teaching team. Our over-2’s, the Pukeko and Kea rooms, have large outdoor areas where children can learn, run, climb, and explore to their heart's content.
We warmly invite you to book a visit or send us an enquiry today. We would love to show you around and introduce you to our vibrant community. We look forward to welcoming you and your precious tamariki at Creative Garden Flat Bush.
OUR ROOMS
- Tui Room: Infant to Two Years Old
The Tui Room is our sanctuary for infants and young toddlers. Here, we provide consistent and nurturing care, creating a comforting nest for our smallest tamariki.
- Pukeko Room: 2 – 3.5 Years Old
The Pukeko Room is designed for our energetic toddlers. It represents their growing ability to face challenges and thrive in their educational journey.
- Kea Room: 3.5 – 5 Years Old
The Kea Room is where our preschoolers flourish. This room fosters their intellectual growth, preparing them for the future with nurturing guidance.
OUR CURRICULUM
Our curriculum is based on New Zealand’s Early Childhood Curriculum – Te Whāriki. We see children as competent learners and communicators, secure in their sense of belonging and confident in their contributions to society.
Te Whāriki, meaning ‘woven mat’, integrates four curriculum principles with five strands. Together, these elements express our vision for children. Our teachers collaborate with children, parents, and whanau to weave these principles and strands into a local curriculum that promotes positive learning outcomes.
The Four Principles / Kaupapa Whakahaere of Te Whāriki are:
- Family & Community | Whānau tangata – Family and community are integral to the curriculum.
- Relationships | Ngā hononga – Children learn through responsive and reciprocal relationships.
- Empowerment | Whakamana – The curriculum empowers children to learn and grow.
- Holistic Development | Kotahitanga – The curriculum reflects the holistic nature of children’s learning and development.
FREE PLAY APPROACH
At Creative Garden, we believe children are naturally driven to play. Our Free Play approach leverages this motivation, using play as a context for learning. Through play, children explore, experiment, discover, and solve problems creatively.
Free Play combines child-initiated and teacher-supported learning. Our teachers gently encourage your child’s development by posing questions that stimulate problem-solving, prediction, and hypothesising. This approach introduces your child to maths, science, and literacy concepts in a hands-on, engaging manner.
Play supports positive attitudes such as imagination, curiosity, enthusiasm, and persistence. These skills are crucial for happiness and success in later life, both academically and personally.
sWe understand that nutritious, fresh food is essential for healthy bodies and minds. Our cooks prepare daily meals that are not only delicious but also support your child’s physical and mental growth.
FUELING DEVELOPMENT
At Creative Garden, we prioritize healthy, wholesome food full of nutrients. Our dedicated in-centre cooks prepare fresh lunches and snacks every day using the freshest ingredients, with a preference for local and organic produce.
We also grow some of our vegetables and herbs on-site, encouraging children to participate in tending and harvesting. This involvement fosters a positive relationship with vegetables, often inspiring children to try foods they have helped grow.
MEAL TIMES
All meals, including morning and afternoon tea, lunch, and a late snack, are prepared by our experienced cook. We operate a four-week rotating menu, offering a variety of meals. Drinking water is always available, and we provide facilities to sterilise bottles.
We cater to a wide range of allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences. Any dietary requirements will be discussed upon enrolment and strictly followed.
