A little about us
We would like to welcome you and your child to City Preschool. We are a privately owned small boutique childcare centre licensed for 25 children, on Auckland’s city fringe. We are located in the heart of Newton on Upper Queen Street. The Preschool is conveniently situated just off the North Western Motorway and right off Symonds Street exit on a quiet street, that is easily accessible from main roads and is in close proximity of local suburbs Eden Terrace and Grafton. We have a passionate and experienced teaching team that strive to promote meaningful learning experiences that inspire children to grow and develop into confident unique individuals, that are empowered to explore and discover the magic and wonder in the world around them.

Our philosophy

Here at City Preschool we are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning. We strive to promote and provide a rich and dynamic, nurturing, fun environment that inspires children to grow and develop into unique individuals.

We empower children to become confident, competent and capable lifetime learners by following their dreams and aspirations, through active exploration and social interactions with others. We provide an environment where children can discover the magic that can be created when they engage in meaningful learning experiences.

Our teachers are passionate about learning and providing experiences that support your child by encouraging independent and forward thinking. As teachers we will treasure every moment of each child’s learning journey and respect their freedom to connect with others and take control of their own learning and development. We believe that learning is a collaborative approach and those ‘Special’ moments should be shared and celebrated with others. We place a strong emphasis on building reciprocal partnerships with parents, teachers and children to develop a community of learners and inquirers.
