au mai haere mai e te whānau ki tō tātou kainga!
Our Playcentre is long established in the community of Tāmaki. We are a stone’s throw away from the eastern bays and are proud of our multicultural heritage.
We have a mix of cultures in our centre from Māori and Pacific Islander, to European, French and German! Because of this, we often can hear different languages being spoken to our children throughout our sessions.
We love to have fun and play right alongside our little ones. Being able to stay on session keeps us as the first and best educators for our own children and means that we can learn right alongside them about how to be great parents and teachers. The Playcentre education helps us with that learning. We also have nani’s, dad’s and aunties come along to help play – all whānau are welcome any time.
Our children often come when they are very little, some even as young as 6 weeks old with their big brothers and sisters beside them. The beauty of mixed age play is the learning that our little ones get from the older ones. Babies crawl, climb and talk faster. Preschoolers learn how to communicate, share and negotiate with empathy for their younger peers.
Glen Innes is currently going through an exciting transition. There is a lot of construction going on, new families are moving in, and new facilities and infrastructure are being built. The neighbourhood is expanding positively. With that growth, comes new opportunities.
If you want to be a part of this change, come to Glen Innes Playcentre!
