Welcome to All About Children Mt Wellington, where your child’s early years are treated with warmth, creativity and care. Nestled just under 100 metres from the lower slopes of Mt Wellington, our centre blends nature with nurturing to give little ones a foundation for lifelong learning.
Our philosophy centres on learning through play, both indoors and out. We believe curiosity blossoms when children explore, discover and connect with their environment. High teacher to child ratios ensure individual attention, and staff are chosen not just for their qualifications, but for their passion and genuine love for working with young children. We value what children bring from home, and our educators act as “second teachers”, building on home learning and nurturing strong, trusting relationships with every family.
Children at our centre enjoy a wide variety of engaging programmes that support their individual development. Spacious outdoor play areas and nature-inspired environments encourage physical movement, curiosity and creativity. Our little explorers regularly go on supervised walks, discovering nearby Mount Wellington and farm animals, collecting natural treasures and building a connection with the natural world. In their final year, our school readiness programme focuses on building confidence, independence, emotional regulation and early literacy and numeracy, helping children step into school life with ease and excitement.
The environment at All About Children Mt Wellington is both charming and purposeful. Housed in a beautifully converted Californian bungalow, the centre offers a unique mix of character and purpose-built learning spaces. Inside, the rooms are calm, thoughtfully arranged and filled with stimulating resources. Outside, children enjoy expansive, nature-rich play areas designed to inspire imagination and encourage active play and discovery.
We deeply value family connections. Parents and caregivers are seen as partners in their child’s learning, and we welcome your involvement through open communication and regular updates. Each child’s journey is captured in a personalised portfolio, filled with observations, photos and milestones that reflect their growth and interests.
Nutrition and wellbeing are integral to our care. Our in-house cook prepares healthy, balanced meals using seasonal ingredients that cater to all stages, from early weaning to busy preschool appetites. We also place strong emphasis on daily physical activity, sensory play and nurturing each child’s emotional and social wellbeing in a safe and encouraging environment.
What makes us truly special is our connection to nature and our beautifully designed environment. With Mount Wellington as our backdrop, children get to learn through real-world experiences, and the character-filled setting makes every day feel both homely and inspiring. We also offer flexible support options including 20 Hours ECE, WINZ subsidies and a no-obligation free trial for new families. Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of what we do, and we welcome every child and family with open arms.
All About Children Mt Wellington is more than a childcare centre, it’s a place where children grow, families connect, and learning comes alive through play, exploration and joy.
