At Learning Adventures Takanini, we help the children of Papakura and Takanini reach their full potential. Our philosophy

Learning Adventures Takanini believes that every child has the right to reach their potential.

We focus on the development of each child’s self-esteem, cultural awareness, social behaviour, independence and self-management, together with developing their personal resilience, empathy and how to be an effective communicator. This holistic development also includes a structured scholastic program, including literacy and numeracy, to ensure the child is ready for school and confident in themselves and their ability to learn.

We acknowledge and respect the cultural heritage of both partners of Te Trite o Waitangi and through this we offer a bicultural learning environment. Learning Adventures Takanini is a multicultural family of staff, children and their whanau. We recognise and respect all cultures, staff members, children and whanau members.

Our guiding aim and purpose is to ensure your child is treated and cared for with loving respect, with all their developmental needs met and that they are prepared for their next stage of schooling. Our overall goal is to develop confident and competent young children who are excited about learning.

Our rooms

Learning Adventures Takanini has two separate rooms, enabling us to deliver safe, nurturing and age appropriate learning experiences for all our children.

Buzzy Bee Room

Our Buzzy Bee Room is a home away from home for our busy 2 and 3 year olds, and is equipped with all the resources little ones need to thrive. Here the main focus is on exploration, communication, social skills and curiosity - however, the children learn and develop so many other different skills through the experiences we provide on a daily basis. All of these developmental experiences prepare them to successfully transition into the Pukeko Room and then on to school.

Pukeko Room

Specially crafted for our 4 and 5 year olds, the Pukeko Room sets children up to successfully transition into primary school. We achieve this through daily routines, planned activities and learning experiences based on, and extended from, children’s interests.
