A positive foundation for learning
We encourage children to develop a love of learning at a young age by creating opportunities for them to explore, experiment, solve problems and express themselves as individuals.
Our learning programme is inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy and the New Zealand Early Childhood curriculum, Te Whariki. This structured approach, which includes specialist music teaching, will ensure children are well prepared for the next stage of their educational journey – primary school.

Our expert teachers maintain a rich classroom environment where students are challenged to learn and explore to ensure their readiness for school. Children are also taught that respect for everyone else is important.
Early Learning students will have priority entrance* into ACG Parnell’s primary school.

Te Ako o Te Tui is embedded within the unique multi-cultural context of Aotearoa New Zealand, acknowledging Māori as Tangata Whenua and honouring the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. As an Early Childhood Centre within the University of Auckland, we share a vision to create a Centre with both a national and international presence.

Our priority is to create a caring and aesthetic environment where the language, spirituality and culture of all children is respected; each child is affirmed as an individual. Within our setting, we promote collaborative relationships between Tamariki, Whānau and Kaiako. The environment for our youngest children is nurturing and responsive (Maanakitanga).
