Research shows a child’s first five years are critical to all future learning and development as their brains develop most rapidly during this time. By age three a child’s brain has already developed to 80% of its adult size with brain connections formed through the interactions, experiences, and relationships the child makes. The quality of these interactions, experiences, and relationships is crucial and that is why a child’s involvement in a quality early learning program is so important.

Child’s Time Penrose is a purpose built, family owned and operated Early Learning Centre. We offer childcare for children from 3 months to 6 years.  Our childcare centre has 3 age groups – Nursery 0-2 years, Toddlers 2-3 years and Prepschool 3-5 year old's.

Our childcare philosophy acknowledges the importance of families/whanau in a child’s life and we foster  reciprocal relationships with parents/whanau in a collaborative approach to meeting the needs of tamariki. Our positive nurturing guidance encourages tamariki to participate in literacy experiences which built confidence and strong foundations for life-long learning. Playcentre is unlike any other early childhood education organisation. At Playcentre, both children and their parents / caregivers attend.

At Playcentre children get the opportunity to learn and explore in a fun and safe environment.

The curiosity and creativity of our tamariki is nurtured in a way that allows them to learn about themselves and their world.

Your child will be given a chance to explore, create, climb, read, sing, experiment, play music, wear costumes, have their face painted (or do it themselves!), garden, do carpentry with real tools, bake and cook, build sandcastles, swing, slide, dance, spend time in nature and get messy.

The activities change every day. Playcentre parents all bring different skills, interests, and cultural backgrounds to add to the rich learning environment.

We welcome families with children aged 0 – 6 years. Mixed age play allows your children to engage with others older and younger than themselves. Pre-schoolers learn how to communicate, share and negotiate with empathy for their younger peers.

At Playcentre, families come together and lifelong friendships are formed.

We welcome you to visit any time during the year. You are entitled to three free visits so come and check out what we do – we would love to meet you and your family!

At Busy Bees, we value every child and see them as unique and a special taonga. Our Environment

At Busy Bees Mt Wellington, we have three separate spaces for our little learners - the cosy nursery, a separate toddler space and an adventurous preschool environment. Each space has its own separate outdoor space, providing endless opportunities to explore the natural environment. We promote the development of active and confident learners who think, question, seek information and apply knowledge to the best of their ability. Our team strongly value relationships with our centre whānau and wider community. This is something that we hold close to our hearts and incorporate into our programme daily. We are a committed and dedicated team with a shared vision for creating a nurturing, safe, creative, and happy environment for our tamariki and centre whānau to be a part of. We have created wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces, full of possibilities and ample resources, ready for discoveries to be made.

Nursery (up to 2 years)

Our Nursery environment is based on building loving and trusting bonds between infants and teachers, who structure the day according to individual needs. Teachers work closely with families to understand infant cues and develop a routine that supports children’s natural rhythms. Play is open-ended and full of fun as we embrace the unknown of how children explore and experiment with their ideas and theories of how the world around them works.

Toddler (2-3 years)

Our Toddler centre is designed to help our tamariki balance the desire to be independent with the need to be nurtured and cared for. This age group are ready to explore their sense of self whilst still needing more care than the older children, therefore a focus on emerging social skills and independence make this space. Our Toddler environment is prepared to entice children’s curiosity and exploration where testing, trying and challenging is valued. We support childhood learning with a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and supportive of all children during this age of discovery and wonder.

Preschool (3-6 years)

Our preschool room offers opportunities throughout the day for children to be involved in contributing to the curriculum by helping to make decisions about what is set up and sharing their ideas. Teachers work alongside the children to set up an environment which is challenging and provides curiosity and active exploration. Children’s self-help skills are very important at this stage and children are supported to go to the toilet on their own, wash their hands, dress themselves, and serve up their own morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. The preschool children have regular mat times throughout the day where they learn songs, stories and are encouraged to share things with the other children. Some of our group learning times arise from the children’s own participation in incidental moments when we are playing outside games, at the play dough table or gardening.  We value that each child learns at their own pace and when they are ready, and that play is children’s work.

Bi/multi-Cultural / Celebrations/Traditions

We are a  sessional centre located in Sylvia Park Shopping Mall and running 3 sessions per day.

We are open 7 days a week and looking for a qualified ECE teacher to fill part-time work or full-time work during the weekdays. As we are a very multicultural centre, you will meet different children/whānau during each session. If you enjoy variety and like to work only inside, this is the position for you.

Our opening hours are 8.50am to 3.30pm.

We are a small friendly team looking for someone that will fit nicely into our Treehouse family.We are open Monday to Sunday, three sessions a day.

The sessions times are:

8:50am - 10:50am

11:00am - 1:00pm

1:30pm - 3:30pm

LATE NIGHTS Thurs & Fri

6:00pm - 8:00pm.

Highly resourced

We are so well resourced at Piccolo Park that kids get really excited about their learning. From stimulating educational toys, creative art materials, and very cool play areas, right through to technology such as iPads that the children can use to help them research those many whys, whats, when, wheres, and hows about the world around them.

Some daycare centres think bringing toys from home is great because those daycares have so few resources. But our policy is no toys from home because we have more than enough and we don’t want our kids to go through the heartache of having their toys broken.

Waipuna Preschool Centre was first established in 1982, since the opening of our doors, we have understood and emphasized on the value and importance of quality education and childcare. It is the educator's passion and desire to make a difference, whilst supporting parents and whanau, that owning and operating a childcare centre came to fruition for myself.
