South Wellington Montessori School provides a calm Montessori Learning Experience for children aged 2-6 years. With three teachers who share a passion for the Montessori philosophy and up to 25 children, South Wellington Montessori is a home away from home.

Montessori allows children to be self-directed and hands-on with their learning. The classroom is a prepared environment which provides access to age-appropriate materials and activities.

As well as the traditional Montessori programme we also provide the children with the opportunity to experience the world and become part of their local community.

Our service focuses on preserving and supporting the Cook Islands Language & Culture. We pride ourselves on our commitment to your child’s safety and comfort, as we realise that a sense of physical and emotional security is an essential foundation for growth and development.

The Centre caters for children from six months to five years. Our curriculum offers integration of age groups. The children’s learning and play contributes in developing their social skills. Establishing relationships and friendships provides the children at the Centre with a sense of belonging.

We acknowledge the value and guidance available in ‘Te Whariki’ early childhood curriculum, and the unique partnership under the Treaty of Waitangi.
