Paraparaumu Beach Kindergarten is situated on the stunning Kapiti Coast near the beach.
The teaching team works hard to ensure a beautiful bicultural environment which includes reference to the legends that relate to our area.
We value environmental sustainability including water conservation and we also encourage healthy eating practices. The benefits of these commitments influence the learning in our community.
Our programme is based on our children’s and teachers’ interests with input from the community. We draw widely on our beautiful natural environment empowering our children to take ownership of it.
Our three guiding principles of Whakaute (care and respect), Ako (teaching and learning together) and Tino Rangitiratanga (making our own choices) underpin everything that happens here.
Our overarching statement is: Aroha Mai - Love towards us; Aroha atu - love going out from us.
We are researching our whakapapa along with our tamariki and whānau and strengthening our connections with our local community including Whakarongotai Marae.
