Little Waves Early Learning Centre

Kia Ora, Talofa, Hello, Bula, Malo e lelei and Welcome to Little Waves Early Learning Centre. Our centre is a friendly small family orientated centre that provides a "home away from home" for tamariki from 0 to 5 years.

The teaching team at Little Waves is a mixture of qualified and registered teachers. Together we work in a close-knit team celebrating each other's strengths and backgrounds (cultural or experience based). We are all passionate about our centre and our wonderful whānau that make our Little Waves community. We work in true partnership with parents and whānau to provide quality care and education for tamariki.

We have a quiet nursery, catering for up to 10 under two year olds. Our nursery kaiako work to provide a calm environment for nga pepe where they are able to self-select resources and participate within daily mahi that kaiako prepare for them.

Our preschool offers many different play spaces both indoor and out. We believe that tamariki learn through play therefore a lot of our day consists of child lead mahi. There is plenty of opportunity for tamariki to set up their own activities and explore their learning. Kaiako also plan for each tamariki learning outcome seen within Te Whāriki, these are led by tamariki interests. Daily mahi set ups are carefully planned by kaiako to support and extend tamariki learning and thinking. Kaiako support mahi time, where tamariki are free to choose if they join, that caters to a variety of learning outcomes that support tamariki individual learning.
