Welcome to Riverdale Kindergarten, an inclusive environment fostering confident, competent learners in partnership with parents and whanau. We uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Whariki (Early Childhood Curriculum) and appreciate the uniqueness of our bicultural heritage in Aotearoa, New Zealand.  We pride ourselves on valuing the virtues and learning dispositions.  We demonstrate whanaungatanga by nurturing the responsive reciprocal relationships holistically with respect and trust.  We embrace the individuality of each tamaiti through supporting and enhancing a sense of belonging for all learners and their whanau.  Together we are kaitiaki – guardians of our land.  We are committed to providing opportunities to explore sustainable practices, and to experiment and enquire in our Reggio Emilia inspired environment, our hapori and our wider world.  Within our inclusive environment we offer everyone a chance to be a resilient lRuahine Riverdale Kindergarten is situated next to the mighty Manawatu awa, and only a short walk away from the natural charm of the Ahimate Reserve, our local whenua, where we adventure often.

Ruahine Riverdale Kindergarten, is a place be creative, build your resilience and care for people, places, and things. We value every child and see them as unique and a special taonga. We are inclusive of all tamariki and their whānau, supporting our tamariki to develop a strong learner and cultural identity. We demonstrate manakitanga and work in collaborations with whānau to develop trusting, respectful, reciprocal relationships. Together we will support your child to develop into a capable, confident learner.

We have a welcoming homely environment filled with upcycle, natural furniture, making it a place where tamariki feel at home, building their sense of mana whenua/belonging. We engage in sustainable practices and support our tamariki to learn and engage in becoming kaitiaki of our land.

We uphold the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Whāriki, weaving these throughout our curriculum and environment.

Ruahine Riverdale Kindergarten is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 2.30pm, and closed over the Christmas and New Year break, as well as three weeks during the year when teachers are engaged in professional development (dates to be advised on enrolment).

Three, four and five year old's may attend our kindergarten up to 30 hours at no charge, a fee of $2.50 (inclusive of GST) is in place for tamariki under 3 years of age - ask our Head Teacher for a copy of our Terms of Trade.earner. We embrace the cultural identity and diversity of all learners, supporting them to thrive.  We are here for you and your whanau; to support, educate and share.
