Welcome to Active Explorers Blenheim, a purpose-built centre in the heart of Blenheim offering quality early learning and care for infants, toddlers and young children. Our passionate kaiako, spacious environments and strong cultural diversity help tamariki grow into confident, curious lifelong learners.
About Active Explorers Blenheim
At Active Explorers Blenheim, we focus on supporting each child’s development at their own pace. Our experienced kaiako create a warm, nurturing space where tamariki are encouraged to explore, discover and thrive.
The centre has large indoor classrooms and generous outdoor areas that inspire creativity, movement and messy play. We’re located right next to Horton Park and just outside the Blenheim CBD, which is ideal for whānau who work in town.
Children are grouped by age across four rooms, each designed to meet their learning needs. We celebrate special events like Matariki with lights and shared kai, enjoy dress up days, and welcome visitors like St John and Animal Control. There’s always something happening to keep learning exciting and meaningful.
Our Rooms
Our centre is full of energy, colour and opportunities to explore. Children enjoy dancing, messy play, building, pretend play and more. The spaces are designed to support creativity, connection and learning through fun.
Rūma kiwi 0 - 12 months
Our pēpi are cared for in a calm, peaceful room where they can explore through music, soft play and sensory activities like painting and water play. Routines are guided by each baby’s individual needs.
Rūma Rua 1 - 2 years
This room is full of discovery. Tamariki love messy play, music and movement, and playing with animals and transport toys. It’s a space where they start building confidence through hands-on experiences.
Rūma Toru - 2 to 3 1/2 years
Ruma Toru is where creativity comes to life. Children enjoy building with blocks and magnets, arts and crafts, dressing up and imaginative play. Dance parties are a daily favourite!
Rūma Wha 3 1/2 to 5 years
Our preschoolers enjoy learning about local legends, rivers and mountains while preparing for school through fun, play-based learning. They explore nature, express themselves through creative play and grow their independence every day.
