A little about us

Krafty Kidz is a private childcare centre, owned and operated by Janine for the past 16 years.  We are responsible for providing our infants, toddlers and young children with positive, enriching, learning experiences and we strive to model respect, patience, care and education.

Our aim is to encourage and support a community of confident and independent little people, who, when they leave Krafty Kidz, will continue to take on new risks and challenges, engage in problem-solving and critical thinking and have all the fundamental skills to continue on their journey as life-long learners.  Developing independence & creativity In our open plan environment, children are able to self-select from a wide range of activities and opportunities.  Children can move freely between indoor and outdoor areas.

Our centre culture is described as welcoming and home-like, providing children with challenging but familiar and attainable experiences.  Forming positive relationships We believe emotional engagement is the key to powerful learning and as a small learning centre, we form strong bonds with children and their whanau.  Families are welcomed and encouraged to share goals for their children as learners with a strong sense of identity, language, uniqueness and culture.

We acknowledge Maori as Tangata Whenua and encourage partnerships with all families through the concept of whakawhanaungatanga (getting to know each other).  Celebrating diversity Children learn best with and alongside other children from diverse cultures and ethnicities and through tuakana/teina (older person/younger person) relationships. Learning is not limited by age, ability, ethnicity, background or gender. We value the diversity of our community.  We are proud to be a service that meets the needs of families in West Auckland and we look forward to creating a partnership with you, your child and whanau.
