At Active Explorers Ellerslie, we focus on creating a family-friendly, community-centered environment where children thrive. Our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach encourages kids to explore, create, and think critically, helping them develop essential skills in a fun and engaging way.

Our centre has two spacious, purpose-built playgrounds and thoughtfully designed learning spaces, giving children a safe and inspiring place to grow. We also offer meals, snacks, and nappies, so families can feel confident that their child’s needs are well taken care of.

Children are grouped by age, with each room providing activities and routines that match their developmental stage. From the cozy nursery to the lively preschool areas, every child has the opportunity to learn and grow in a way that’s just right for them.

Our Rooms

Active Explorers Ellerslie offers vibrant, thoughtfully designed spaces where children are encouraged to explore and create. From hands-on activities in the nursery to active play in the preschool areas, our centre provides a safe, enriching environment for all children to enjoy.

Nursery One and Nursery Two Rooms (0-2 years)

Nursery 1 is a cosy, nurturing space for our youngest tamariki. The room is filled with sensory learning experiences, soft play areas, and opportunities for early social interactions to help build motor skills and confidence.

Nursery 2 is designed for toddlers to explore through play. With climbing structures, sensory stations, and fun learning experiences, this space supports the development of motor skills, language, and early cognitive abilities.

Toddler Room (2-3 years)

The Toddler Room encourages curiosity and independence. With engaging play areas and group learning experiences, we help toddlers develop social skills, explore their world, and build a strong foundation for learning.

Preschool One and Preschool Two Rooms (3-5 years)

Preschool Room 1 is an exciting space where children engage in creative play, early literacy and numeracy, and group learning experiences. We help prepare tamariki for school while nurturing their love for learning. We focus on building strong skills through structured play and discovery. Tamariki are encouraged to work together, solve problems, and express themselves as they get ready for their next educational step.
