In the heart of West Auckland’s thriving Hobsonville community, you’ll find an early childhood centre that feels like home. Each day, this architecturally designed building is filled with love, laughter and the pitter patter of little feet. Calming white walls offer the ideal backdrop to vibrant pops of colour from the tamariki’s artwork, our cosy couches, and natural resources.
Scents drift in from the kitchen where our chef creates food as nutritious as it is delicious. Babies start out in the Uri room – Māori for small seed – where, like a seed, they are loved and nurtured, fed and watered. On they grow to Hako (seedling), then Mānuka (blooming bush), Harakeke (flax), to Pohutukawa (strong tree) – each room filled with passionate kaiako who support their unique and changing needs.
Our tamariki’s journey comes to an end in the Kauri room and, just like the majestic tree, these children have become the biggest and oldest with deepseated roots.
Rain or shine, children thrive in the generous outdoor area that spans the length of our centre. Complete with gardens, sandpits, a bike track and a mud kitchen, all our children play outside together, giving this space a special, family feel.
We treasure our local community and are always looking for ways to get involved, whether that’s through Pink Ribbon brunches, Matariki celebrations or parents’ nights.
Enrol today and join the many families who have discovered the joy of New Shoots Hobsonville.
