Living and Learning Family Centre Henderson

You and your child will feel the warmth in the welcome, as you enter Living and Learning’s Family Centre - at the heart of which is the early childhood centre. This modern, architecturally designed building on Universal Drive in Henderson is situated just a few hundred metres east of Lincoln Road, convenient for easy motorway access and close to the commercial heart of the Henderson community and the families we’re here to support.

The centre opened on the 31st January 2012, and is licensed to care for and educate 100 children. Centre furnishings and resources in each of the five classrooms have been specially chosen to create an innovative and friendly atmosphere, in which your child will have fun as they’re learning. Homely touches are woven into a state of the art environment that has an inviting feel, where children can settle, feel comfortable and enjoy a sense of belonging.

People and relationships are at the heart of Living and Learning, which is reflected in our evolving team, 7 of whom have been with us since our opening in 2012. They bring a wealth of experience and teaching practices.

Your child will be nurtured by a team of 22 permanent teachers, 3 support staff and 4 ECE students, as well as regular and highly-regarded relievers at the early childhood centre. West Auckland is richly diverse in cultural heritage and this is reflected in our team, who come from a range of ethnicities and are bi-lingual in several languages including Te Reo Maori, Mandarin and Indian.

As you make your way through the centre, you’ll come across the beautiful outdoor play area; designed and planned with children in mind. The wide variety of activities and play equipment provided encourages physical challenges, learning through movement, and social interaction for children, at each stage of their development.

Features include a bike track, sandpits, a “magic dome”, “glow worm caves”, a water games area, wooden bridge, a maze and so much more. This world of outdoor discovery is set in a secure, quiet, well-landscaped area of the centre, ensuring that your child will thrive, love learning to explore and enjoy all the new opportunities it offers.

Under 2’s

The program of care for our under twos is inspired by the Pikler and RIE foundations, so it’s based on the belief that trusting and respectful partnerships between children, families and teachers are the foundation for learning and happy children. Key teachers will welcome you and your child, and be there to help you settle into centre life.

By taking time, and using sensitive observation of your little one, teachers gain an understanding of your infant’s cues and competencies – which enables them to respond to their needs, and plan for and extend their learning and development.

Throughout the day, there’ll be shared “care moments” with your little one such as when they’re being fed, changed or put to sleep. These warm and peaceful interactions build a relationship with your child that enables us to understand their individual need for time, uninterrupted self-directed play and discovery.

In this way, your child’s emotional well-being is protected, so they’ll feel settled and able to develop strong attachments. It’s this reassurance that builds partnership with your family, and enables your child to trust and depend on their care-givers to respond to their needs.

We cater to a range of age groups from 2 to 5 years where all children are encouraged to play and learn with and alongside each other. This fosters co-operation and the implementation of Māori concepts such as Ako and Tuakana-Teina.

We pride ourselves on offering a centre where everyone is welcome to learn confidently and at their own pace. Children here demonstrate a real sense of belonging. They settle quickly and establish effective relationships with each other and the teachers.

Children are able to pursue and develop their interests with the support of caring and capable teaching staff.

We also ensure that we include family aspirations for their child in their documentation and ensure that these are encouraged throughout their learning journey. We also include family and whānau input in fundraising and other kindergarten events. We love to work collaboratively with each other and the families of our little ones to make sure they are being supported in ways which fit their unique needs.

We also help children with a smooth transition to school by ensuring that they have developed essential skills for life.

We feed into a range of local schools in our area and many of our children have gone on to attend these schools with confidence.

The teaching team all have a sound knowledge of Te Reo Maori to ensure that we deliver bicultural learning programmes based on the Te Whāriki curriculum.

Our learning philosophy

For the past 110 years, the Auckland Kindergarten Association has been igniting young minds by encouraging them to explore their imaginations through play. For many of us, kindergarten was where we began our life of learning; it was where we started learning skills like sharing, tolerance, patience, respect and self-confidence.

We view children as capable, competent, life-long learners, and our philosophy encourages children to make their own learning choices, problem-solve and observe and explore at their own pace…with support from teachers, parents, wider whānau and their peers. We value the importance of child-initiated, play-based experiences. Our kindergarten teachers nurture your children’s interests and natural curiosity by working alongside them, expanding language and introducing mathematical and science concepts, as well as literacy, digital technology and sustainable practices.

Our centres have gardens and natural outdoor spaces where children can create, explore, be imaginative and expressive. There’s plenty of room to safely run about, being imaginative and physically active. In fact, the natural world is essential to free-range play. AKA encourages each kindergarten community to explore and enrich their diversity and uniqueness. Some have regular excursions into the local community; some are Enviroschool kindergartens that live and breathe sustainable practices; while others engage in long-term research on child interest-based programmes of learning.

As an organisation, we formally acknowledge the dual heritage of Aotearoa / New Zealand, and work to uphold the spirit and intent of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in each kindergarten. We are accessible, secular and welcoming to the wide diversity of tamariki and whānau who attend our centres, and value ongoing partnerships between teaching teams and leadership staff with families and whānau. We value ongoing learning for teachers, parents and whānau, and the sharing of knowledge, skills and attributes is fundamental to achieving the best learning outcomes for children. Teachers and staff can access collegial professional time to ensure that quality practice is enhanced so current theories of learning and development within New Zealand’s world-class Te Whāriki early childhood curriculum are shared and understood.

Children learn

Children in our kindergartens have the opportunity to:

  • Feel confident, develop responsibility and a sense of independence

JeMMa's Home-Based Henderson

JeMMa’s Home-based Education and Childcare was founded on the belief that early childhood education plays a major role in a child’s ability to develop skills and learn throughout life.

As a kindergarten teacher, Jenny Tyrrell could see that children who had a focus of learning whilst in a home environment appeared better equipped to learn in the future. As well as this, children who were well socialised with other children of different ages appeared to cope better than others.

It was those two key observations which cemented her belief; that a child, learning with other children, in a homebased environment rather than an institutional environment, was the best way to go. And that’s how JeMMa’s started. The name is derived from a combination of the two directors names, Jenny and Martin.

At JeMMa’s we believe that home-based education and care is the next best alternative to learning at home with Mum or Dad

Children who learn in a comfortable home-based environment seem to develop strong problem solving, social and learning skills. Because they are in a comfortable, uncrowded environment children they get the chance to develop and learn at steady pace with all the help they need.

JeMMa’s children receive lots of one-on-one time with their educator, as well as interaction with other children in different age groups. These are two core components in the development of happy, energetic, sharing, respectful, thoughtful, problem solving and fun loving kids.

Our Philosophy

JeMMa’s is a quality privately owned family focused Homebased Education and Childcare Service that is committed to ensuring that all children, parents, whānau and kaiako are welcomed and encouraged to play an active role in promoting positive outcomes for our learners. We are guided and inspired by Te Whāriki our early childhood curriculum which encourages us to appreciate that children come into the world eager to learn and we see this as a privilege where we can work in partnership with children, parents and whānau to empower our learners through responsive engaging environments and experiences where they can reach their highest potential and develop an enthusiasm for ongoing learning.

Building and sustaining quality learning focused relationships with everyone is the essence to who are and what believe is valuable for outcomes for children and their ongoing wellbeing and development. Our nurturing relationships will be underpinned through our Christian values and connection with people within our service and our wider communities.  Our environments will embrace cultural diversity of Aotearoa and our commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi will be authentic.

We view all children as unique learners where they will have endless opportunities to learn through play and develop a range of knowledge, skills, and learning dispositions. This will spark children’s independence, urge to lead their own learning, social skills, curiosity, creativity, discovery, ability to express themselves and things that are important to them. Our kaiako will dedicate quality time with our children where they will nurture those in the moment opportunities and offer the guidance, support, and encouragement that our learners need to blossom and thrive.

Parents and whānau are a vital part of our team, music sessions and shared lunches are just some of the activities our families love to join in on.

Our children love painting, waiata and the many  play areas they have to discover.

Connecting with the outdoors

We only know who we are, by knowing where we come from. That's why building a strong connection with nature and our local community is so important. We believe it helps your child develop a sense of belonging and identity and positively influences their learning experiences.

Were located next to Henderson High School and close to the Henderson train station.

We're so lucky to have so many wonderful options on our doorstep here in Henderson. We grow our own vegetable and herbs in our garden and go on community excursions to the local library, park and community events regularly.

Nutrition and wellbeing

We strive to provide nutritious and delicious meals and snacks to support physical and mental development. We encourage healthy eating habits and offer a balanced menu to keep your child well fueled throughout the day. The children also love being involved and we use the vegetables and herbs we grow, in our meals.

Our child led curriculum gives plentiful opportunities for children to build on their interests and skills, and is delivered by dedicated, passionate teachers who love what they do. Prepare your child for success in this ever changing world. Start their journey at Learning Adventures Henderson.

Our philosophy

  • At Learning Adventures Henderson we believe that respectful, responsive and reciprocal relationships are at the heart of early childhood education.
  • We value a play based environment that encompasses and integrates all aspects of a child’s hauora (well-being).
  • At our centre, children are taonga (treasures) who are inquisitive, unique and feel empowered to have an active role in their learning.
  • They approach the world full of wonder through playful and imaginative ways. Children feel respected, a sense of manaakitanga (trust) and are supported to make positive choices.
  • We are intentional teachers through our professional knowledge and understanding of the child to support and extend their interests and needs.
  • We are responsive to children through both spontaneous play and by planning for children individually.
  • We also allow children to lead their own learning and cherish their interests.
  • To strengthen a sense of whanaungatanga (family connection) we develop trust and effectively use meaningful ways of communication with our whanau.
  • Through establishing these relationships we develop insight into the cultures, languages, beliefs, values and aspirations of our multi-cultural centre.
  • Children develop aroha and appreciation for the environments that surround them.
  • Through showing respect to Papatūānuku we provide opportunities to create art with nature, be with nature and look after nature (kaitiakitanga).
  • Our environments have spaces where children can explore freely, have some quiet time, construct, create and express their thoughts and ideas.

Our rooms

In order to provide the highest quality and most age appropriate learning experiences to all our children, Learning Adventures Henderson caters for three different age groups - under 2s, 2 and 3 year olds, and preschoolers.

Between 7:30 – 9:00 am, and 4:00 – 5:30 pm all age groups combine in the Pohutukawa Room, providing a great opportunity to develop and benefit from tuakana-teina relationships.

Puriri Room (Babies)

This safe and homely environment is where our youngest tamariki aged 1 – 2 can explore their surroundings, learn new skills and gain confidence. We have our own exclusive deck area with smaller obstacles, a sandpit and water trough play. We even have two art easels on the fence so we can take our art outdoors. Puriri Room children are also encouraged to explore larger obstacles under supervision and socialise with our older tamariki to foster tuakana-teina relationships.

On any given day in the Puriri Room, we explore art, books, music and movement, sensory experiences and most of all, developing communication and relationships. Our Kaiako (teachers) understand the importance of having a language rich environment where tamariki are safe to explore, learn and develop at their own pace and become confident and competent learners.

Pohutukawa Room (Toddlers)

Fully equipped for our busy 2 – 4 year olds, the Pohutukawa Room has a huge outdoor space with a sandpit, obstacle course, bikes and swings. In fact, some of our tamariki call it “the park”! Inside we have a variety of resources and activities that the tamariki can access themselves, encouraging great self-help skills and the ability to lead their own learning. Indoor highlights include our construction play area, science area, reading area and a family play area. Three tables are regularly set up with new experiences, including one which is dedicated to art projects.

Kauri Room (Preschool)

The inspiring and exciting Kauri Room is where you’ll find our 4 – 6 year olds. We have a great outdoor area, equipped with a large sandpit, water/messy play area, obstacle course, real grass and even our own orchard with fruit trees and plants. Our curriculum encourages self-help, independence, resilience and social competence through play, the environment, attitude and strategy building. We help children develop confidence around school readiness by having a regular lunchbox day, and encouraging children to take responsibility for the resources they use and for their shoes, bag, hat and drink bottle.

Take my hand and together, we will discover, explore and learn about ourselves, each other, our community and the world around us. Ehara taku toa i te roa takitahi engari, he toa takitini - Success is not the work of one, but the work of many

Pukeko Room (3 month to 2 years)

Our nursery is a warm, caring environment filled with love and little explorers actively discovering the world around them! Our Kaiako plan the curriculum based on our pepi’s interests, developing skills and our whanau aspirations, working alongside parents and caregivers to ensure partnerships with families that support continuity between home and centre and provides deeper knowledge of each and every infant.

Kiwi Room (2 to 3.5 years)

Our boisterous toddlers love exploring and making new discoveries! Our passionate Kaiako set up provocations to encourage our tamariki to think outside the box, utilizing up-cycled and natural materials to ensure our children are learning about sustainability and looking after our precious whenua. Our teachers engage with families to build and maintain strong relationships that are supportive of children’s learning and family aspirations.

Tui Room (3.5 to 5 years)

There is nothing better than hearing preschoolers who love to learn! And that is exactly what you hear in our Tui room. With experienced teachers who share that same love for learning, our Tui tamariki experience an environment where they are encouraged to develop their independence as they prepare for Primary school with our specially designed Be School Ready program! Our teachers strive to create a safe and calm home-like environment to support children's social and emotional learning.

This is achieved by ensuring our environment is familiar for children and their families, through consistent routines and strong meaningful relationships. Learning in the Tui Room is a hands-on approach, encompassing our families aspirations and with play as a curriculum that focuses on the children’s interests and dispositions, encouraging Tamariki to gain a love for learning as they engage in the carefully planned environment and experiences.

Garden to Table

Our huge vegetable garden offers our tamariki the opportunity to get involved in their meals, planting, caring for and eventually harvesting the vegetables to take to our kitchen where our talented cook turns it all into delicious, nutritious meals worthy of our Healthy heart award.

Part of the award winning BestStart family, we've been voted the Most Trusted early childhood education provider in New Zealand. BestStart Montel is your child's destination for early learning.

Children in our kindergartens have the opportunity to:

  • Feel confident, develop responsibility and a sense of independence

The Learning Lane

We value Whānaungatanga - A family focus

The Learning Lane is a family focused business and we pride ourselves on offering a family focus/whānaungatanga.  We recognise and value all cultures and incorporate the Treaty of Waitangi with Te Reo Māori and Tikanga.  Each family’s culture is important and we will endeavour to understand whānau aspirations, needs and beliefs for their child.

We value the love of learning - Ako

We believe all who come here are unique with diverse skills and capabilities and are lifelong learners. We will promote education and learning through a variety of experiences that will enhance each person’s values, dispositions and funds of knowledge.

We value challenging and growing

We understand that development occurs within a stimulating environment where there are experiences and opportunities that encourage thinking, problem solving, reasoning and experimenting.  As we are challenged we grow to become competent, capable learners. As we become competent and capable learners we gain new skills and increase our funds of knowledge.

We value listening and responding

Communication is vital in building strong reciprocal relationships. We believe all should feel valued, respected and loved during their time at TLC and ensure that voices are valued and listened to. We communicate by expressing our feelings, needs, interests and opinions with each other in respectful, positive ways.  We then listen, understand and respond.  Listening is an expression of love and respect and responding will help meet the needs of those we communicate with.  Listening helps us plan for learning and ways we respond.

Caring, respecting and nurturing

Through working together each of us will endeavour to nurture and build up each other through having an understanding, caring and forgiving heart.  We will look for the best in each other by respecting one another’s beliefs, belongings and cultures, thus building a sense of security and self-confidence.  We will promote this to benefit our family, friends and wider community so that as we care, nurture and respect others, we will learn to respect and take care of ourselves.

Mission Statement:

to create a learning space of excellence where children, their families and the teachers can belong, believe, discover and grow. Our purpose built centre is situated on the campus of Laidlaw College, Henderson, and provides care and education for the children of students undertaking courses of study at Laidlaw College, for the children of staff at Laidlaw College and for children from the wider community. We have excellent ratios and an educational curriculum that reflects our special character. We offer 20 hours of free ECE per week to all 3 and 4 year-olds.

Programme and Philosophy

At Olive Shoots we welcome children and their families into our centre where we aim to create a safe, inviting and inclusive environment. We believe that family/whanau, the centre and the wider community all have a vital role in a child’s growth and development. We acknowledge that the intellectual, emotional, social, physical and spiritual aspects of our lives are interrelated and influenced by each other. We are committed to integrating our Christian values and principals with Te Whaariki, New Zealand’s Early Childhood Curriculum. We endeavour to grow in our understanding and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi. From this foundation we provide a curriculum which is primarily child initiated, developmentally appropriate and based on play. We embrace the concept of ako wherein the teaching and learning relationship, the teacher and child are seen as co-learners. Therefore teachers regularly engage in professional development to be informed by current research and ongoing self review.

We believe that family and whanau are a valuable part of a child’s life and teachers will work in respectful partnership with them to ensure positive outcomes for their children. Families and whanau are encouraged to participate in our programme. We plan for children’s individual learning pathways and interests by providing a variety of experiences using a range of teaching strategies. We will provide a well resourced, stimulating and challenging learning environment which encourages children’s interests and strengths to be supported and developed. Children are empowered to make choices, gain confidence, build strong reciprocal relationship and to become confident and competent learners. Through their relationships with teachers and as they explore their environment, children gain an understanding of God’s love, His awesome creation, the Bible and how special they are to Him. Olive Shoots is an integral part of the Laidlaw College Community and recognises and respects both the bicultural commitment of the College and the multicultural diversity of the wider community.

Rising Stars Early Childhood Centre

We, at Rising Stars, believe that early childhood lays the foundation for future learning and development and that childhood experiences and memories greatly influence a person's life.

We believe that a child is a competent and unique individual with talents, potentials, and capabilities who deserves our utmost care and respect. Thus our dedicated and professional team of teachers endeavour to discover and draw out the giftedness of each child entrusted to us by:

  • Designing programmes that cater to and extend on the children’s individual needs and interests;
  • Preparing an environment that is safe, stimulating and challenging, and where children can play, explore and develop at their own pace;
  • Facilitating learning experiences that provide a balance between free-play and guided child-initiated activities.

We are convinced that children feel a sense of belonging and their self-esteem is promoted in an environment where on-going and harmonious parent-teacher partnership exists and where their cultural heritage is recognised and valued. Hence parents as well as whānau aspirations for their children are constantly considered, and their contributions to the programme is regularly sought and appreciated. Furthermore, we acknowledge and respect the cultural heritages of both partners to the Treaty of Waitangi by promoting Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori in our daily programme of activities and in special celebrations, in addition to the cultures of our Rising Stars family.

Henderson Learning Centre is a private family centre that focuses nurturing young children into confident and eager learners.

Henderson Learning Centre is a fun, energetic and loving childcare centre that has a strong focus on education. We are committed to the holistic development of our children and have created exceptional programs for the enrichment of their body AND minds. Our highly experienced, dedicated and loving teaching team takes every opportunity to expand on children’s interests and this is complimented by our uniquely laid out, spacious indoor and outdoor settings.

Love & Belonging

It is only when a child feels love and security that he/she will then develop the confidence to explore and learn. Our teachers are hand-picked for their loving nature and will actively assist your child in making friends and engaging in group activities.

Teacher : Child Ratio

We have a ratio of 1 teacher to 8 children compared to the ministry of Education’s requirement for 1 to 10 children. This high ratio allows our teachers to provide individual education and care to your child.

Family Participation

We believe that family is the most important part of our Henderson Learning Community. Our Open Door Policy welcomes parents/guardians to freely discuss anything and everything with any of our staff at any time. You are also encouraged to participate in our daily activities and outings. In short, we work very closely with our parents/guardians to achieve the best outcome for our children.

Children‘s Ages and Opening Hours

We cater for children between 0 and 5 years of age. We open from 7:00 to 6:00 Mondays to Fridays and are closed for all statutory holidays.

  • Settling your child in:

To ensure a smooth transition and your child is emotionally secure, we dedicate one primary caregiver to your child unless they are comfortable during the routine time and develop bonding with others. This allows the child and parents to know who they go to. We also have a buddy system where an older child will be encouraged to show their new friend the play areas and what to do. This helps your child to develop a sense of belonging and form friendships with their peers. Before your child starts at the Henderson Learning Centre, we encourage you to come for 2 or more visits. We will also ask you to fill in a detailed information sheet about your child’s interests, likes, dislikes etc. These information will be passed on to all the teachers before their first day.

We invite you to find out more about our philosophy, read our ERO reviews, meet some of our wonderful teachers, view some testimonials from our existing parents or book a tour with us to feel ready and happy on your next journey with your precious one!

Happy Kids Preschool

Run by a great team of teachers who have exceptional skills and care for what they do.

Happy Kids Preschool is a privately owned preschool. Our family friendly atmosphere means not only do the children feel loved and cared for, but meaningful relationships are built between the preschool and each child’s family/whānau.

So we welcome you and your child to Happy Kids preschool and hope that you love it just as much as we do.

Our philosophy

We believe providing a loving, fun, safe and stimulating environment that values and respects each child’s culture encourages our children to be competent and confident learners; healthy in mind, body and spirit.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi is encompassed in our philosophy. Teachers, children and their families/whānau come from a variety of cultural backgrounds with a variety of languages spoken at home. As teachers, we respect and value our children's unique family culture and language through the spoken word and our daily routines (karakia, waiata and music); our environment (materials for displays, dress-ups, instruments and natural resources); and our curriculum planning. We are constantly working and reflecting on this through our training.

With our mixed age group of 2-5 year olds we believe it is important to encourage positive tuakana teina relationships between the older and younger children where they learn from each other. This also allows for siblings and cousins to attend together which provides a sense of belonging for them.

Titirangi Private Kindergarten - Rural Campus

Henderson Valley Private Kindergarten is a family-owned and operated kindergarten located in the tranquil Henderson Valley scenic reserve far removed from noise and pollution.

Established in 2010 as the second of two kindergartens owned by Norman and Jennifer who have had their original centre in Titirangi running for over 30 years, our Henderson Valley Campus brings with it a unique experience for children to receive quality education and care in a spacious, thoughtfully designed centre, as well as having the opportunity to engage with the natural world that our location lends us to. Hands on experience with animals is a fantastic aspect of our kindy location and provides great learning opportunities for our children. This exposure has been shown to have a direct, beneficial influence on children’s cognitive and physical development.

We cater for children from 18 months old in two interconnected learning spaces designed to extend on their unique interests and abilities. We are lucky enough to have large areas available for year round active movement both indoors and outside in our naturalised outdoor space reflective of our location in the Waitakere foothills.

Our Philosophy

It is our firm belief that every child has their own unique strengths and special gifts. Therefore, we plan our curriculum and practice in a way that caters for each individual child, while recognizing and fostering their unique place in their community, whanau and as part of our larger kindy group of children.

We aim to assist children in their own self-discovery so they can grow in confidence and develop their potential, seeing themselves as capable of achieving their goals.

We believe in making learning fun so children develop a natural curiosity for learning which extends far beyond their kindergarten years.

By creating a positive and trusting atmosphere that allows children to feel secure and valued, children’s self esteem can flourish. If children progress from kindergarten to school with a feeling of confidence and a conviction that they are valued, understood and appreciated for who they are and what they can accomplish, then they will be much better prepared for the challenges of school and life.

Children have access to a wide range of learning materials, equipment and activities. There are periods of time for children to experience extended free play as well as structured learning groups and organised activities.

Curriculum Planning

We adopt a flexible approach to planning which includes both planned units of work based on particular themes as well as spontaneous areas of interest introduced by the children. Teachers are able to recognise children’s interests during their work and play and extend their learning through thoughtful interaction and guidance.

Each topic/theme covers a range of different curriculum areas such as:

  •  Science and nature
  •  Social sciences
  •  Arts
  •  Drama
  •  Physical education
  •  Our programme also explores important skills such as:
  •  Reading
  •  Maths concepts

We believe in the importance of an easy transition to school and help children gain the skills necessary to move from kindergarten to school with confidence. This includes self help skills, as well as exposure to early reading and writing in our literacy rich teaching practice.

Over the years our transition to school programme has been proven successful and we regularly receive outstanding feedback from schools about the children coming in from our centre.

Country Kids

Every child deserves a nurture and nature rich education.

Country Kids is the natural childcare choice for quality early learning in West Auckland.

  • Enjoy safe exploration among expansive grounds.
  • Embrace fresh air and open spaces, every day.
  • Explore, Enquire and Engage!
  • Engage in a respectful, nature based curriculum, that will capture the curious minds and hearts of every active explorer.

Our co-constructed curriculum comprises a harmonious balance of free play and structure that follows the natural rhythms of the child. Free play stimulates imagination, cognition, social and emotional development, while our predictable daily rituals soothe and support your little learner so that they can confidently explore the wider world around them and holistically develop their own sense of self.

During their time at COUNTRY KIDS your child will foster a love for nature, a respect for all living things and gain confidence as they develop life skills, social competencies and self help skills in preparation for school and life beyond.

With all the wonders of a working farm on our back doorstep, an array of animals, large and small to interact with, and the highest quality, most dedicated early education team in town...

See for yourself why families keep referring us to their friends and what makes Country Kids so SPECIAL !

Our Philosophy

Taulapapa Leata Su'a Aoga Amata is committed to providing quality early childhood care and education in our Community.

We aim to provide quality learning outcomes for all learners and we are passionate about promoting the Samoan language and culture in the context of a multi-cultural environment of Aotearoa for life long benefit.

We believe strongly in our christian based values that underpin our Fa'a Samoa through Alofa (love), Tautua (service and responsibility) and Fa'aaloalo (respect).

We believe these values will enhance the development of every child so they can grow into their unique God-given identities and be confident in who they are.
